Vinted Fury

last weekend i took two parcels to the yodel/collectplus drop off at my local petrol station, the cashier was dodging between serving me, serving shop customers and petrol customers and looked exhausted
my two parcels were clearly identified (for my own use) by the initials on the recipients relevant parcels and the cashier took each one and printed off each label as i showed him the QR code.  I watched him place each label next to the parcels and left
both parcels were sent to the incorrect recipients and yodel declined to discuss this, instead refering me to vinted.
Now the fun starts!
Vinted initially said that they would investigate with the courier (ive heard this before when yodel lost a parcel) and it could take up to 2 weeks for this, fair enough i thought - even though i was clear about what had happened, have excellent feedback on the site and my individual purchasers were being reasonable and would await the outcome
Just 24 hours later, i was informed that they would be following 'established procedures' and that i would have to resolve the situation with my buyers (one of the items was being returned to another seller as wed agreed to do this at my expense)
despite my requesting an escalation, vinted have now stopped responding, i am out of pocket - two people have the wrong items and both yodel and vinted are abdicating their responsibility
their own website states that 'Vinted is responsible for the parcel from the moment it is dropped off by the sender until it is delivered to the recipient'
I am shocked that both companies can behave like this and just walk away from their own errors
who can i get support from?

This is a difficult one as ultimately sellers are held responsible for labelling , although I understand how mistakes happen when we are expected to hand parcels over to the courier and trust they are labelled correctly. I have such concerns in fact that I very rarely enable Yodel on my listings, and instead use Evri and Inpost where I can print and attach my own labels.

What should happen is that buyers should report an issue with their parcels, along the lines of SNAD , then you can choose to pay for buyers to return items to you then sale will be cancelled and you can relist and sell again. However Vinted don’t seem to have any consistency in the way they deal with issues, so it may take some doing.

unfortunately there is unlikely to be any recourse against Yodel as the contract exists between hem and. zinged as they ultimately pay and supply the label.

neither of the parcel recipients are happy as they both have the wrong parcels - i may leave it up to them to take it forward and use the not as described process as im not prepared to pay for them to swap the items between them
one of them now has had her item refunded when i returned it as not as described!
Vinted are so inconsistent and unfair in their judgement of the issue - its not a lot of ££ involved but it seems like their decision is final and thats that!!

I wouldn't use any service for anything where I can't print and attach the label myself or watch the person applying the label they print/supply to the parcel.

I can see why you're cross, but correct labelling is really your responsibility as the seller.

    +1 to this.

I use the Post Office (I know that it's not the cheapest option but it is the most convenient for me) and each parcel is dealt with separately so there is no chance of a mix-up with the labels.

The issue with Vinted is that with Yodel they don’t offer a print at home label. They used to but then removed it, probably for cost reasons. If a seller is limited to which post options they can use then they might be stuck with using Yodel. As I mentioned I rarely have Yodel enabled mostly because my local shop often runs out of labels so I’m stuck, unfortunately a lot of buyers do prefer Gödel so I know I am limiting my options.

As for RM I don’t use that at all on Vinted, not just because it is way more expensive for buyers, but due to the time you often have to wait for your money to be released. On Vinted all the couriers are integrated, so when tracking shows item has been delivered buyer has just 2 days to report issues before sale is closed and money released to the seller. With RM sellers have to wait for buyer to agree they have the item, even if tracking is uploaded, and Vinted don’t now step in until around day 21. I do though use RM for all my eBay and other sales, just not on Vinted.

At the moment, I only buy on Vinted, I don't sell.
So RM works for me on eBay.

On Vinted there’s a huge disparity between what’s good for buyers as opposed to what’s is good for sellers. I buy on Vinted , but also sell a lot, I use Inpost and Evri mainly to sell, but tend to buy using the cheapest ‘to home’ delivery offered by the seller, which is usually Inpost . I did once buy a bag from a seller using Rm, but got a discount before I would buy as they only offered RM and that made it very expensive for me.

Most of the other things I’ve bought the sellers didn’t offer RM anyway , and I’m happy with Inpost to home as it uses an RM48 label and is delivered by Royal Mail.

The answer is not using Yodel. Use a service like the Royal Mail, Evri etc., that allows you to print the label yourself.

I personally can't stand the useless, inept shower that is Yodel, and actively avoid using them wherever possible.

Recently my daughter asked me to post her Vinted sale via Inpost.
I had 2 options - print the label myself, put it on the parcel and deposit it in the Inpost box.

Second option was to deposit the parcel in the box without any label but just scan the QR code which had been sent via email. How would this have worked?   How does the person collecting know what is what when there is nothing on the parcel?   I didn't choose this option but I am curious how this would have worked.
