I've stopped counting grocery shopping (once a week) and petrol filling (once a month) which has made a big difference (I also don't count direct debits for bills).beanielou said:

I tend to keep a list of anything I need to buy and only purchase on a 'spend' day. To be honest, I don't really buy much else - the only reason I spent a few times this month is because I went on a visit to a relatives and needed to get a few bits for the house and garden (additional bottles for my soda stream, some plasters for my grandbaby's doctor set and a couple of plants). I also buy in bulk for stuff i use regularly (i.e. bird seed and peanuts) which means that I don't run out very frequently.
I'm retired, don't do a social life (other than one day every six weeks or so I have coffee with a relative, that then serves as a spend day) so there's very little need for spend days! 😁'Happiness is not a destination but the journey you walk every day'
