Your husband sounds like a he was a really great man, especially as he considered how he could ensure you could carry on living a great life after he was gone ❤️MrsCautious said:Thank you @beanielou and @cathybird for your kind wishes. I did feel a bit dizzy and was in a little pain after! I’m ok, now
I was distracted by a letter I was reading, it was from a widow’s pension scheme I’ve been in for 12 years, and it said I needed to tell them if I moved in with a new partner. I started living with my partner 12 months ago. So I immediately assumed my time was up with this pension! And I’d need to pay some money back. I rang and they said my late husband had signed up to a premium scheme that means I’ll get a pension for the rest of my life, even if I marry again.This was typical of this wonderful man to want to do this for me, we lost him far too young and he already knew he was poorly and declared it when he took the pension out. I’ve been a little tearful thinking of him - and on reading the letter forgot to erm actually step completely out of the car before banging the door shut! Ouch.And in other news today is NSD number 15.
Thanks for this lovely thread and for listening x

Haven't been on here for a few days. been a funny week.
Should have been a NSD on Wednesday but the bank stopped my card as they thought I had been defrauded (is that the right word) That meant I couldn't pay for my on line shop! Luckily I had some money in the house. Went to Tesc@ with a friend so I bought her lunch.
Thursday was a NSD.
Friday had a cleaner to wash down all the paintwork. Getting a bit to old to bend and stretch,
Saturday NSD.
Sunday NSD.
Think that takes me up to 12.
Hugs to those that need them.

Ah thank you, now there’s question. This pension is one of two little ongoing ones he was able to pass on to me, I remember there were more, including from the NHS and the BBC, that I got lump sums for, he moved around jobs-wise a lot and I was his boss when we met, just the loveliest kindest man. The most wonderful dad. I’ve written (my job) about him many times, as I have my family’s story in the 12 years since which has sadly brought a load more trauma and loss.Worlds_Worst_Superhero said:Your husband sounds like a he was a really great man, especially as he considered how he could ensure you could carry on living a great life after he was gone ❤️
What exciting or lovely things have you got planned for the future?I’ve been blessed to do many lovely things since and have plenty more planned (travel mainly x) and am currently facing my own health issues (nothing too alarming but have nevertheless made me think) and work is where I’m trying to find the best way forward, I’m a little over a decade away from retirement age, that’s why I’m saving as much as I can, decluttering, and doing NSDs where I can. Thinking of upping pension payments.I’ve applied for 2 new jobs this week (one is a dream job which has a good, decent salary and the other is a more highly paid job where I’m not sure I’d enjoy it as much!)
I know there are loads of good things on the horizon - not all of them costing much money ❤️
hope I’ve not gone on too much…3 -
@Makingabobor2
