Hope everything going ok, ngtmare here, I have now ended up chucking my OU course in half way through, cant concentrate, with all the hassle with the neighbours, shouldnt laugh, but............. there was a big kick off there last ngt, we cant see from our house, so the neighbour 3 down rang, so we put him in loud speaker and had a running commentry for nearly an hr. We had 3 police cars, two police vans. Good ngt.
Debt front - same as you do a bit miss a bit, have these ideas, but as soon as the word budget comes to mind, the brain works the heart shuts down. My vice I wish it was clothes be cheaper, its holidays....... the foreign ones, cocktails, sun gd book and 2 weeks peace and quiet. Already booked nxt yrs hol to Cuba, long haul, and as Im built for comfort and not speed and stuck with charlie 1 and 2, (my crutches, dd calls them charlie 1 and 2 bless her), that means I upgraded to premium, just another £200.00. So have got to get myhead round the debts. Start again August with lightbulb moment no 99, plan 105... xxxx rip dad... we had our ups and downs but we’re always be family xx0 -

What is it with your neighbours? that sounds awful, Do the police suggest anything? or aren't there those people from the council, the noise people (well I am sure they have a more professionial title!!) can't they charge them with something? disturbing the peace???? I am so sorry about your OU course. I am thinking along simialr lines if I am honest I am so far behind in one course.......
Right i have tried to do some thing fancy with the quoting hope this works!!Debt front - same as you do a bit miss a bit, have these ideas, but as soon as the word budget comes to mind, the brain works the heart shuts down. that whole do a bit miss a bit is so true, that is exactly what happens. I can pinpoint the moments I give up a bit in my bank statements...... the worst thing is 2 of my Friends have birthdays this week, I have hardly any money for presents...
I love the idea of a holiday.it is so stupid cos if I stopped wasteful spending on nonsense I could go on holiday.
any how off to tidy up and sort out how I feel about carrying on with OU and Avon.
see you later hon xxxxNevertheless she persisted.0 -
How ya doing Buffy? :hello:
Clearing up is good. I'm finding things to list on e-bay while I am doing today. Sometimes I just potter. Picking up things from one room, and taking them to put away, cleaning one thing, such as a hand baisin as I pass. Other times I blitz. Today I am pottering. Lots of half finished jobs, but surprising amount done!
(this never worked when I had small people around. A half finished job would be wrecked, I had to complete each job and put away any bits before moving onto another job)0 -
Hello, Don't give up Avon, Isn't bringing money in? Can you take a break from ou rather than give up ? You've can keep going with cutting back, I know you can.long haul no 65:sad:

Hi Buffy - I'm not stalking you - honest
Just tootalled on here from the other threads - re your OU - They are very sympathic on the 'phone - why not give them a ring and see if you can suspend for a year or so? I'm still half-way through a degree I started in 1991 (mind you, I have been to Uni full-time for 2 degrees in the meantime so finishing it off is more of a hobby for me). Also thanks to YOU :money: I found out about green metropolis and have listed 12 books there today :money:
AS Scarlett says "tomorrow is another day" and do that spend diary. What I try to do is have a no spend day - official one is in November this year - I also give myself an allowance in sealed envelopes per week. One thing I did at Uni was the "Jam Jars of Spend" - basically I put each of my budgets into jam jars and when it was gone I stayed in, ate beans on toast - that sort of thing. Got to the stage where I was guilty taking money out as it looked so happy in the jar
But I'm going to say this once, and once only, Gene. Stay out of Camberwick Green

Not sure I will get to that stage! I tried envelopes but got into muddle. This month is blown as for got to allow for kids spending money on school trips, some teachers aren't put off by health & safety eh Buffy. I'm working tonight so will be on later so will see your decision.:grouphug: Sending hugs but no chocolate as trying to be good.Rage_in_Eden wrote: »Got to the stage where I was guilty taking money out as it looked so happy in the jar

Right ladies and gentleman,
I had a really conversation with my sister today, she lives in Florida and I don't get to speak to her that often, she reminded me of a few things re my situation the most important being that other people saying stuff and being negative CANNOT stop me doing what I want.
and I should remember that.
so I am sticking with OU and Avon.
I can't do my school work, its going to be tough but i shall do it tomorrow morning.............. nothing like living on the edge:rotfl:
and right now I need to get started on typing up OU.
and writing a difficult couple of e mails to OU.
p.s thanks Rage, for all your help and I am glad you found Green met. i might try the jar thing......
hey Kika, hope work was ok xxx

hi Buffy, great name btw. just read your thread and wanted to send you some hugs. would swapping to cash - no plastic whatsoever? help? obviously excepting emergency vet bills but only exceptions like that, not shopping? taking 200 out at the beginning of the month and then that's it.i've done different purses in the past but now can't leave the house so have stopped.
I'm on sickleave atm and shopping online is SO easy. what about before purchasing post here and see how you feel 24 hours later? when the lakeland catalogue first came i mentally spent, ooh absolutely hundreds :rotfl: justifying each purchase for it's time saving/ effort saving/ ooooh pretty status. 2 weeks on i did make a purchase from there, spending £14.00 including postage. it's so dangerous when you read "spend x and get free postage" ooh a bargain -adds another £35 to cart type of thing.
the other things i've found helpful are to calculate how many hours i have to work to buy whatever, to rationalise the purchase, or would i pay someone to move this for me (good for clutter!)
I hope this isn't patronising and i hope you've had a good weekend.
