Well what a long day that was!!
Out of the house for 06:30 and a 1:45 journey took 3 hours. I then sat on site all day and went to start the car at 16:00 and it didn't start - not exactly the end to day I wanted. Although to be fair to AA they were with me within 25 mins and I was back on road (aware that isn't always the case) but they were brill.
I know it isn't MSE but sometimes in my head I question the reasoning behind put money away into pots and letting it build up while it could be servicing something else, but today it absolutely hit me as to why the way I / and so many others are doing it. Whilst it was annoying, the fact I had funds to instantly replace with a new battery, without a worry over how it impacts rest of budget was just such a relief and shows just how vital even having a little bit is. Of course it has ment savings have dipped a bit but it served its purpose.
Finally rocked in at 19:30pm following an absolute rubbish drive home as well. My pizza and cup of tea were earned today. Here's to a less busy day tomorrow.6 -

Last week I travelled to Derbyshire Monday morning, then travelled to Scotland Monday afternoon and spent three days in Scotland on sites and then two days playing catch up, we now are another staff member down too so myself and a colleague are trying to juggle that so yeah…😂. I feel like the weeks are flying by with not very much time for outside work stuff. I’m still trying to declutter coz I’m desperate to have daughters room sorted but honestly I’m exhausted but not the tired type if that makes sense haha.3 -

I know that feeling! I accept the chaos, but try to keep it to a comfortable level of chaos!Debts 04/01/25 01/10/25

I think I just need to accept this is the way I thrive haha. I think in my head I build up things to be worse than they are and the reality is that things work wise are fine, I just feel a lot of strain at the minute, but I also know I can't just do an admin job - I would get bored.
Overall, we are in a really good place financially and the reality is that has come from having a very well paid job with really good benefits- which is stressful at times, but it is because I find myself not knowing what I feel I should. I am learning so much but I always put myself under pressure. I just need to learn to switch off and enjoy the outside work stuff.
I generally have a really good system, but I let things out of my control impact me way more than I should. Anyhow, I am going to suck it up and do things to make it a little easier on myself.3 -
How is it Friday tomorrow. This week has been office based, so been able to catch up a bit. I managed to do a bit of a brain dump, get everything down on paper and able to start working through it.
Finance wise things are ticking along good, there doesn't seem to be any pending dramas, but I feel prepared for most emergencies that could come up in our situation, expect probably a job loss. Savings now up to £700, which I am please we are able to keep putting to and also some has come out this month for xmas, plus the car drama.
This weekend we have plans for both days which is unusual for us, Saturday will be pretty busy as we have a morning at one of high schools, plus little one wants an haircut and then we are off out bowling and for food. Sunday we are going to go to our fav local coffee shop and then for a nice walk and possibly a pub lunch. It has been a while since we have been out so will be nice. Ideally would like to squeeze in some decluttering and the gym but we will see.
I am trying to find things outside of work to keep my mind occupied, hoping if I can do that I can slowly get some kind of balance back. Also managing to slowly chip away at the holiday which seems like will be here in no time way these days are flying by.
