Yet another big thank you to those who suggested (1) put a single duvet under a double for the OH (2) wool Baavet duvets. It is still early days, however I am happy to be waking up in a warm and dry bed and not dripping wet!  Baavet duvets seem to smell a good bit of a sheep, but hopefully the smell will go away.

Just reading this thread makes me want to crawl into a warm bed! The temperature has dropped again :(
... and I had a charming walk across the City under rain last night. Don't remember when I saw the Strand almost empty last time...
Reading about "heat bubbles" made me wonder if it might be a workable to give the OH a sleeping bag and use a double blanket on top that will cover both of us?
How washable is the sleeping bag? It wouldn't be as easy as a duvet cover.
I've got one the I use over my throws when watching TV. It is lightweight and easy to wash.

No man is worth crawling on this earth.

So much to read, so little time.

Yeah but if you think about how much time you spend using it, it's better if you can afford it, to get something that won't make you sweaty or uncomfortable during the night...or whenever you sleep. I've got a wool duvet, it's 4 tog I think and it's been great all winter. Sometimes we have to chuck a blanket on top but we haven't done that at all this winter, I find it much better than the feather duvet we had before, much much thinner but a nice weight on it...I did like brushing my hand across the other one during the night though to watch the little lightning displays in the duvet :)

Mine new duvets will be funded by NatWest/RBS/Ulster switching bribes.
