Very odd that a pop-up from a train booking website shows a monthly fee but not on ASDA...
Maybe that's why MSE got involved and CS were made to change the advert.
It was clear that it was a subscription in a link from some companies but not others.1 -
We are in the process of getting that "subscription" back.
The story is, I have accidentally noticed 18 quid charge on the account. And somehow I missed another 3 even though I check it every so often. So google it is, called them and they refused to deal with me as, apparently, it was my husband.
To and from weeks later (no emails ever came through, hubby has been basically blown off), he managed to get repayment "authorised" (we shall see). When he enquired where he managed to get caught, the answer was "on moonpig website where you purchased a card".
Now. He never bought anything at all on the website. I checked my account in case somehow I used his card knowing full well that I haven't ordered anything for at least 5 years - and of course nada!
How is that work? And no, his card hasn't been nicked.0 -

I booked a ticket on tramline then filled in their Complete Savings form and then bought a 2nd ticket. They're saying the 2nd ticket corresponds to my 1st purchase when signing up to the platform....how on earth do they work that out when I didn't even know about their cash back deal when making the 1st purchase. They clearly are messing people around like myself so I will warn people on Moneysavingexpert, Trustpilot, Google reviews etc not sign up to them as you will not get paid out.1

its the first time ive seen this "cash back" advert when ordering online. i was a little taken back, so i made sure to close the website rather than clicking on anything.
just a question, if i or someone i know was to accidently sign up to this cash back website by mistakenly clicking on the link, how do you know you have been signed up to a membership? do they send you a confirmation email or regular emails? also, how would you opt out / unsubscribe?
thanks0 -

thanks..that's part of their "dodgy" selling technique. Unlike the vast majority of suppliers, when you "sign up" to this scheme you don't get any e-mail confirmation. The only way you find out is by looking at your bank statement. There have been cases where people who do not check their statements have paid for months and in some cases years without realising!.."It's everybody's fault but mine...."2 -
I just signed up to this Complete Savings through Rail purchase and now find I’ve got to make a second railcard purchase to qualify for the discount - it’s difficult to see how to comply ie jump through all the hoops so I’m definitely cancelling0

The second purcashe from the retailer signed up with is usually just for the welcome bonus. You may be able to claim the monthly cashback with any retailer on the list. You could try with something from Argos which starts at about £1. The cashback is usually 10%, so its much better than most other sites. The first month may also be free. The 20% off gifcards are also really good. I have been paid hundreds of pounds in cashback over a number of years and the giftcards usually save me about £20 a monthsmcprivate said:I just signed up to this Complete Savings through Rail purchase and now find I’ve got to make a second railcard purchase to qualify for the discount - it’s difficult to see how to comply ie jump through all the hoops so I’m definitely cancellingAlj1992 said:
