Bougainvillea said:The second purcashe from the retailer signed up with is usually just for the welcome bonus. You may be able to claim the monthly cashback with any retailer on the list. You could try with something from Argos which starts at about £1. The cashback is usually 10%, so its much better than most other sites. The first month may also be free. The 20% off gifcards are also really good. I have been paid hundreds of pounds in cashback over a number of years and the giftcards usually save me about £20 a month2

The story is, I have accidentally noticed 18 quid charge on the account. And somehow I missed another 3 even though I check it every so often. So google it is, called them and they refused to deal with me as, apparently, it was my husband.
To and from weeks later (no emails ever came through, hubby has been basically blown off), he managed to get repayment "authorised" (we shall see). When he enquired where he managed to get caught, the answer was "on moonpig website where you purchased a card".
Now. He never bought anything at all on the website. I checked my account in case somehow I used his card knowing full well that I haven't ordered anything for at least 5 years - and of course nada!
How is that work? And no, his card hasn't been nicked.0 -
I avoided Compete Savings for a decade until I looked into it when I wanted to get some good cashback on a long-haul flight.
Complete Savings have a sister brand called NX Rewards where, in order to get your £15 monthly cost refunded, you need to purchase from ANY of the retailers on their cashback roster, not exclusively the retailer whom you signed up with.
At an average cashback amount of 10% excluding taxes, anyone with a reasonable amount of savvy can actually save a lot of money with these sites, at a net cost of zero per month.1 -
MSE_Molly_G said:Hi all. We've published a story on Complete Savings as the regulator has banned these ads after we complained about them being misleading. The cashback site – and its advertisers – will now need to make it clear that you're signing up for a monthly paid subscription to receive the 'Welcome Reward'. See the full story:

At the bottom of the page it explains (in small but not tiny text) that you're signing up for a subscription.Next time I order I'll try to grab a screenshot.

I have just noticed a payment going out to Complete savings from my joint bank account. I called my bank. They said a subscription was signed up for in 2017 via Hermes website! This is the first time they have taken money out! This would indicate that my husband cancelled it before the first payment. Bank is not concerned and just told me to call the site and request a refund. I said I was unhappy with the banks response as it is unacceptable for this money to be debited 8 years after a supposed sign up to their services. Bank is unperturbed and kept saying they are a genuine subscription service etc.0
