This may be of interest to those in the East Midlands.Even though i've recently switched from EDF E7 to Octopus agile i can still look in my EDF account (i'm waiting for a final bill) and this is the recent E7 Fix EDF are offering. The 11.15p night rate looks excellent to me.

.......23 Feb edit: Today the new ofgem energy price cap was announced and EDF have in response now done a version 2 of the above deal 1 year E7 fix and they've unfortunately raised the night rate to 13.55p and the standing charge to 55.71p.So i hope a few people had nabbed the above version 1 fix because the version 2 higher night rate and higher standing charge now make this version 2 fix look pretty rubbish to me. ☹️1 -

Even if I could shift my consumption, I'd still be worse off - Currently averaging around 18.6p per kWh on tracker.Yeah, for me SC are a biggie, especially moving into milder weather. For about 6 months of the year SC at today's level will come to about the same as my daily energy cost.I used to be on an E7 tariff and managed about 45% off-peak. Having got through winter with minimal heating this year, I'd have been lower than that. Moving to Agile beat E7 for me, but nothing beats the flexibility of Tracker. Thanks Masonic. That you've tried E7, Agile and Tracker tells me it wasn't inappropiate of me to give that E7 tariff information on this thread.Afterall if people read Martin Lewis's E7 article on this forum he gives advice to E7 users by telling them to weigh up the options and for them to consider whether a single rate tariff would be better for them than the E7 tariff. So just like you were once on E7 but are now on Octopus Tracker then it's pretty obvious many other previous E7 users would be like you and will have done the same. It's also not impossible to believe that some may regret it and will now be looking to go back onto E7. Lastly the question whether i'm a spammer. No i'm not. There is zero in this for me. The EDF present E7 standard variable night rate is 16.33p night rate and that fix which i gave was a 11.15p night rate. So of course i will let members know about it. 🙂E7 wasn't a choice for me. I inherited it when I moved in to my property, and it was totally inappropriate for me as I have conventional electric heaters and heat water as needed. One thing to note is that E7 is incompatible with Tracker, so it may not even be possible to switch to it, as it requires your distributor to convert your meter, and E7 is being phased out. Octopus Go is likely a better option if you qualify and most of your usage is charging NSH and a hot water tank overnight, rates for my region are:Night rate (00:30 - 04:30): 9p / kWhDay rate (04:30 - 00:30): 29.78p / kWhStanding charge: 48.66p / dayFixed for 1 year, Exit fee: £0To me that looks like more favourable pricing than the EDF tariff you've been promoting across multiple Octopus threads, and does not require a change of supplier or conversion of meter from single rate to E7. And as Swipe points out, with wholesale prices continuing to fall, cheaper fixes are likely in the coming months.0

I definitely won't be upgrading my storage heaters then0

Masonic i've read on a few website "Go" is for Electric vehicles. Also i hope E7 doesn't get phased out because although at the moment i'm trying out Agile i would eventually like to return to a static priced E7 tariff. As you know agile is more for those who are willing to take risks with pricing. Many people with storage heaters often complain that they are expensive to run. So many will limit there use and instead use alternative electric heating. They may for example buy a cheap halogen heater which has 3 × 400 watt bars and use that for their heating throughout the day. So for those E7 users they may decide that Octopus tracker at that time is a more suitable tariff.Of course at a later date they may decide to switch back to E7.I guess the advantage of living in 2024 is we can try out different tariffs to decide which works best for us.0
