Think I've only ever opened one account that needed a selfie. So presumably just open any account, and if you're unlucky enough to get that bank, go and open one with someone elseI consider myself to be a male feminist. Is that allowed?0

I think of the 6 or 7 current accounts I have opened over the last decade or so, only one (First Direct) required a selfie.• The rich buy assets.
• The poor only have expenses.
• The middle class buy liabilities they think are assets.0 -
It might be to do with how they operate, I checked a few digital banks and they seem to want photo ID and selfie.

Try a bank that isn't a digital one. There's plenty of them.I consider myself to be a male feminist. Is that allowed?0

One reason not to want a selfie is that some of us find it hard to do. I've taken quite a few selfies and a few videos when opening accounts, most often with app-based banks. One thing they all have in common is that they ask you to remove your glasses. My glasses are for reading and I can't read the screen without them. They haven't really thought that one through...3

You were lucky had to take a selfie today for a TSB current accountHillStreetBlues said:Asking on behalf of someone else.
What's the easiest account to open without the need of a selfie?
Used TSB as no selfie needed.0 -
Branch visits are great when you don’t require a sea crossing.mr_stripey said:I presume you can open a current account in branch without needing a selfie. For the online applications, all the ones I have used have required some kind of selfie/video verification. Surely this is a good thing? Would be interesting to understand someone's reluctance for not wanting one?0 -
Wasn't for me, but after posting I remember that when I applied a few weeks ago didn't as for any id or selfie, I wonder what the criteria is from being exempt.35har1old said:
