Hardly worth trying to use MSE forums at weekends these days.
I wonder how many potential newcomers are put off from using the MSE forums for good?
It's over three months since MSE commented on this thread.1 -
I got a time out when trying to load the site just now. Posts are very slow to load as well. There seem to be a number of duplicate posts on various threads too, probably because people are trying again when nothing happens when you go to 'post comment' so they try again. 🤔0

For me it has certainly run smoother in the past but it's definitely been worse before and is far from being unusable. If comes up with a cloudfare error when I first go onto the forum, which is annoying but is usually fine when I try a second time and has touch wood been running reasonably well (though certainly not perfectly) today.powerful_Rogue said:This site is starting to become un-useable due to the slowness and timeouts.0 -
I have noticed how slow the site has become for the last week or so. For the first time I am regularly getting the “gateway time out” message today.2

@MSE_James @MSE_JC Is anything in hand with Vanilla to sort out this problem? It seems to get sorted for a short time just to return after a couple of months. This is the third time since February that it has become a major problem. It is so frustrating and could be losing MSE members.Bob2

It's as bad as it was in the bad old days of a few months agoI am getting many vanilla errors today and the usual (as it has become) periodic slow downsThis problem does seem to be exclusive to MSE as I haven't had a gateway time out on any other site for many years0

Just as a counterpoint ... I'm not encountering any issues at all. 🤷♀️Jenni x0
