It may seem pedantic but a flight can't actually be cancelled 'twice' or 'again' - once it's cancelled then its replacement can also be cancelled, but in order to justify two compensation claims it has to be clear that it was two different flights that were cancelled.

It sounds from your email excerpt that they accepted the claim for the first flight, so implicitly not the second one - I believe that the airline would typically be considered responsible for the actions of their fuelling contractor so it ought to be worth pushing for a claim for that cancellation to be compensated too....
