I called up at 7:59 this morning and got right through, the guy said it's lost and put a claim in, which I did at about 10 past 8. It doesn't say out for delivery just item received at Plymouth MC.
I'm going to hope the buyer is being genuine, I've got no way of knowing now and If I were to suspect foul play thats just going to annoy me, so If I assume they are being genuine, I get refunded £150 and I've only lost £25 thats the end of it and it could have been a lot worse0 -
They do seem awfully slow - their "48" service is basically a lie.

I had this exact situation (although not RM, another courier). Unfortunately the buyer didn’t co-operate and EBay could do nothing so the they got something for nothing.FFHillbilly said:I've been trying to call Royal Mail. whats the appropriate time period to wait before filing a claim for loss? what happens if I refund the buyer on the 12th if it hasn't arrived and it gets delivered the next day?0 -
I had a RM48 that took 22 days….partly because buyer was out & rearranged delivery twice but mostly because RM were hopeless.
I emailed them ( had to dig for contact email).
Eventually tracking moved to out for delivery/ delivery after I’d given them a prod via email.
Buyer never responded to my inquiry about had it been delivered so I had no way of knowing if it had turned up/ was lost/ awaiting delivery but buried in a postie van somewhere….until tracking updated.
Never did get any feedback 🤣Lurking in a galaxy far far away...0 -
Tracked 48 is rubbish - it rarely gets there in 48 hours. Its generally several days at least.
Tracked 24, on the other hand, is great. Always delivered next day without fail. I would much rather pay the little extra for Tracked24.1 -
Royal Mail do not claim 48 hour delivery for Tracked 48
- 2-3 business days
 - Compensation up to £150

Not with Royal Mail, it's RM48 or Special Delivery.FFHillbilly said:for items £150-200 what's the cheapest tracked service? special delivery will cover it but it jumps up to £8-9. there must be something in-between0 -

RM48 does NOT compensate above £150 as I think FFHillbilly realises.KxMx said:

I know that as they do. They asked if there was anything between RM48 & SD. I said no there is only those two services.Rantband said:
