Possible flight scam?

  • What happens if I don’t take the calls? It was late yesterday and I was just about to get into bed. To be honest I don’t particularly want to have to go through the same conversation again.

Also my bank have told me that the payment will go through. Which I’m still not sure about, they haven’t booked anything so not sure they can claim the payment for flights they haven’t booked.

I presume that the bank simply means that from a banking perspective there's no need for the merchant to secure any further authorisation to claim the payment?  The bank can't comment on how likely it is that the merchant will do so, or when, or whether it's a scam or not....

I would be emailing rather than phoning so you have a record of the conversations.

Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.

I have emailed them twice already but with no reply back at all. I have also made contact via live web chat and text. They did reply back to say how can I help and then when I respond, they go silent on me.

Given the Trustpilot reviews (the majority of which are obvious bots) it's fairly obvious this is a scam operation so it's wise to be limiting the damage i.e. not accepting offers of higher priced (or lower value) tickets.

Hopefully you've screenshot/email of what you believe you booked and for what price.

No idea where this is going to go but watching with interest (and fingers crossed)

Well, I’m not quite sure what to make of this but received another 2 calls. One this time from a supervisor to give me a hard time again but I stuck to my guns and said I did not accept their alternatives and I wanted the transaction cancelled. In the end I put the phone down.

Literally just had another call to say they are cancelling the transaction immediately.

I did say I had contacted my credit card provider and would be discussing this with them further - perhaps that persuaded them I wasn’t backing down?

As of late last night, the hold on the credit card was removed.

So thanks again for all the help and support.

I am so glad I came across your post. I thought I bought 4 flights to LA with Flightmover Ltd for £1800 but we had the same experience, flights in waiting line, another £700 needed etc....
Thanks to your post I sent them a email describing the various ways I would make them regret their choice and last night I had a call from their refund department apologising and I was promised money back in 24hrs.... we will see.

@Lablady74 didn't come back to say whether their email had worked or not. And they've not logged in since that last post.
