This news from a couple of months ago , have there been any updates to this in terms of leaving mid contract and not paying a termination as not wanting TT services. Thanks0

My contract with Shell/Talktalk ends on13/08/24. I am moving house September 2024. I can't renew as Talktalk don't do short term contracts and I am moving to EU country but have no address yet. I have been told on helpline that I have to let contract come to an end and phone them on that day to give 30 days notice of cancellation. Does this make sense to anyone?
I have had experience of TT and don't trust them at all, but I am willing to phone to give notice to cancel a contract which has ended if that is what it takes to avoid them getting one penny they don't deserve.0 -
Your contract doesn't end, the minimum term ends and you move onto a rolling monthly contract without the discounts.0

Has anyone else encountered an additional fee from talktalk since the switch from Shell energy. Mine is £17.45, which I rang and complained about. Despite them having 'refunded' £12, my bill is still £12 more!!0

I had an email to say that their billing dates were different and so for the first bill with TalkTalk, it would be higher than usual. Eventually to settle down. My fuel bill with Octopus was very high when the bills formally came from them, not Shell, but it now seems normal.

I had an email from TalkTalk asking me to register, now that migration is complete. I cannot seem to do that. The email address that TalkTalk used (as with Shell) is not one I ever had when previously with TalkTalk - I know that has caused problems for others as it links to their former account.I haven't been able to see anything on Shell broadband for some time. This is pretty poor if you are nearing end of contract or wish to alter payment details.I am thinking of writing to TalkTalk to say that at the end of contract, I wish neither to renew nor transfer out. Then have the phone line disconnected. I can use a smart phone for emails & texts and a bit of internet. No real loss.0

I was with Shell and paying £18.98 per month for a landline-only service. I got my first TalkTalk bill today and it was much higher so I logged in. The dashboard of my account shows that I only have the £18.98 landline service as my contract and caller ID which is free. However, when I open the bill there is £8.908 per month extra for broadband. No mention of broadband on the dashboard or anywhere other than the bill. The phone line is for incoming calls from my elderly parents in case of emergency. It's never had broadband, I have never ordered or requested broadband, I have never been told broadband was being added, and I can't use broadband on that phone line. After an hour on an online chat with several people I was finally told that TalkTalk don't offer a contract without broadband. It's being escalated but I am going straight to OFCOM. It's scandalous, how can TalkTalk simply add services I don't want or need, and can't even use, without my consent?

I got my first bill and it's the same as above - an extra charge for the transition from Shell to Talk Talk Broadband in July. I contacted them pointing out that I had already paid in advance for the month of July so why should I be paying again just because of the transfer? They agreed to refund the difference but, as the person from Talk Talk said in the chat that this is a 'technical' issue surely that means that everyone who was on Shell Broadband is now being charged twice for the same period? Is that how they are paying Octopus for buying them out, double charging their customers in the hope that they don't notice? Surely there must be some regulator who can investigate and get everyone an automatic refund?0
