MAKE £10 A DAY IN FEBRUARY

Hello everyone and welcome to the challenge.

The purpose of this challenge is to try and make an extra £10 a day on top of your normal income to help things along eg paying off debt, making savings, paying for holidays, overpaying mortgages.

If you feel £10 is too much why not start at £5 (or less if you want)  or if you're brave join those who aim for £20 a day! Anything extra you make is great so set whatever target you think you can manage. It also doesn't have to be £10 each and every day - some days you make more and some days you make less, but aim for £310 (or whatever your target is) extra at the end of the month.

The idea is that everyone posts how they are making extra money and these shared ideas help all of us to learn new ways to help cut debt or earn/save money.

This is the 195th month of this challenge, which was first started by Batgirl, in September 2007. Here is a link to the original thread as I am sure some of you are interested to read where it all began.
Thanks to Batgirl for starting it and for everyone who has kept it going for more than 14 years.

Hope you join us and see how much you can make this month!

  • Hi everyone.
I'm in with a £10 a day target and have had a really good start. Had interest added to my savings account of £110.43 and £2 from Amazon shopper panel.

Should be able to cashout from Prolific tomorrow. I have some submissions that seem to be taking forever to pay out.
Total debt when my journey began in December 2022- £66,133.42
    Current debt May 2024- £40,064.57

I've never done this challenge before so I'd like to try it. The only things I really do are surveys on Prolific, and I get about £10 interest a month from keeping my current account money in a higher interest saving account until I need it. I'll aim for £3 a day and see how I get on, and might get some tips from everyone on here for next month 😁

I'm back too, aiming for £10 a day again, which I've actually achieved the last 2 months - mostly thanks to bank switching bonuses though...

    Off to a good start.

£12.01 arrived from Prolific (obviously January earnings, but it arrived today so starting Feb total with it)
£16.53 annual interest on a regular saver
    = £28.54 already!

Arranged to take part in some research on Monday - should get £25 voucher so I'll add that to my total. Got a £175 bank switch underway that MAY pay out in Feb, but may be March, and a couple of £125 switches on the go that will likely be March so looking good for the next few months!

    Good luck everyone!

  • Put me down for £5 a day again please :)

Today £2.10 from Google Rewards, £1.97 in interest across my various savings accounts and £2.26 Chase cashback so £6.33/£145
Starting Debt Total: £10156.43/£9723.43 Current Total
    Total Paid to Date: 4.26%

    SPC 17 #040 - £28.93
    House Pot £1000.55/£2500
    Car Insurance Pot £126.70/£300
    Christmas 2024 Pot £96.57
    Emergency Fund £25.00/500.00
  • Hello @Elisheba & welcome!  £3 a day is doable!  It takes a while for surveys etc and for some things to build up the first month/s of trying them and after that they sort of get rolling. So don't get disheartened if you start some of those things and nothing pays out over feb.

I found quick wins to be selling things (ebay, vinted, fb market place if you can cope with it!),
I surprised myself with what I could sell and had without much time or effort the first month I took the challenge. It motivated me to list some things quickly, without putting too much time in just to see, and they sold! It didn't take anywhere near the amount of time I thought to list a few things either!

    Good luck.

I'm going for £5 a day again. Mostly because I really need to spend time focusing on building my business back up and consulting after recovering from major surgery last year (& before that I had covid SIX times over the course of a year. Not surpringly I now have mild-moderate long covid as well as my ongoing condition I had the surgery for!)

Focusing on that, is going to get me the most financial gains, shorter term and long term. So I have to remind myself to work on that, and not the side things!

    So goal is £145 - £5 a day.

So far I have £6.69 paid out from usertesting and pennies interest!
    So £6.69/£145

This month between usertesting sessions due to payout in feb, bank cashback due end of feb and hopefully a pending airtime rewards which will get applied to this months bill (£10 maybe, it might end up on next month) I am at £78 expected.

So £67 ish to go for £5.

I think I might be able to exceed it, maybe depends on the airtime rewards. But won't be on the computer doing case work so much for the next two weeks, so won't be able to just grab usertesting sessions when they appear in my dashboard and may not have energy to photograph and sell things. We'll see!

I also have a small dream of starting selling some of my crochet things. But I think the extra energy at the moment, especially if selling online is too much when I should be putting that into being most effective by  building business and growing my online training courses.
I think I just need a way to legitimise making all the crochet things I like making, but can't keep!

Had some surveys clear in prolific so my first £5.54 for this months challenge. Was hoping for some money to add through marketplace but it seems like i have another timewaster. getting a little frustrated with it but will persevere for a minute as I really need to try and clear some debt before the remortgage in a few months  :'(
