They should do, but often don't.  Better for you if they don't, IMHO.
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

After a couple of chasing letters from ZZPS and from QDR Solicitors, I have now received a "warning before further recovery proceedings" from: GCTT Certificated Enforcement Agency. Is this some kind of a bailiff?

Is my understanding correct that I can and should ignore any such correspondence, and that only a letter before claim from proper solicitors is the only one I should respond to?

Do these lovely, distinguished gentlemen send letters from different letterheads, quoting different companies, as a cheap tactic to scare people into paying?

I won't answer your last question, but what do you think?   :)

    A debt collector's letter.
Although not very clear on your image, the foot of that letter tells you that it too has come from ZZPS...

The fourth post of the NEWBIES thread explains exactly how to deal with debt collector's letters, but to summarise that post - ignore them.

Yes, I remember that. I suppose the slight doubt was whether Certified Enforcement Agents are what used to be called bailiffs, and if this changes anything. It seems not. Thank you.

PS How much does it cost these esteemed members of society to take me to court? Is it such a low amount that they'll try their luck with anyone?
