Complain. This isn't the qualifying criteria.SamDude said:
Nope. The person I spoke to understood what salary sacrifice was and accepted that I met the salary eligibility. He said that I shouldn't give it up to show my true income for the sake of getting a Premier account(!)Futuristic said:
So did they still not upgrade you even after you called to explain that?SamDude said:I requested to upgrade my Reward acc to a Premier Reward and it was rejected after a few days (via email).
I salary sacrifice heavily so knew it could be the reason and it was confirmed when I called to query it.
They didn't care that my gross salary was eligible, only that the net salary that lands in the account made it look like I earn much less.
(not that I was ever going to...)
Complained, and complaint upheld.
Account is now a Premier account (+£100 compensation for the complaint)3 -

Glad you got the right result.

I hope it's a Premier Reward account - worth £8/month in cashback net of fees...0

Yes it is (moved from regular Reward to Premier Reward).artyboy said:I hope it's a Premier Reward account - worth £8/month in cashback net of fees...
Apart from the different app icon, I can't see any other differences - should the account name be Reward (as it is) or change to Premier Reward?

App icon is the very first thing to change, then the account name updates - did you use the online request form to change your account type?SamDude said:

I have the RBS version. I don't meet the salary criteria but I have that much money moving in and out of my RBS account (my oldest and main feeder account) that it must have looked like I do! I submitted the online request to update and it was approved without any evidence needed.
With the increased rewards value, it's worth trying your luck with it even if you don't think you will meet the criteria.0 -
I considered doing this as I cycle money through to meet the reward account criteria and could just do more cycles. However I wouldn't want them to be annoyed I'd upgraded to premium inappropriately and then close all my accounts with the group so didn't bother. Probably I'm overthinking it, but idkabz88 said:I have the RBS version. My online request was rejected but I complained so it was updated manually during a welcome phone call with the Premier team rep yesterday morning.PloughmansLunch said:

The app icon changed during the call, but the account name still states "Reward" (where your screenshot shows "Premier Reward").
I'll chase it with them, thanks for confirming.0 -
Has anyone upgraded their RBS or Natwest account to Premier recently?
I submitted a request to change account type to Natwest Premier Reward recently via the apps but was refused a week later.
Spoke with Premier team who completed the onboarding process such that "Premier" appears whenever I log into the apps. However, Premier manager said it was not possible for them to change the account type, and advised submitting a request again via the apps. Did this happen to forumers recently?
A cheeky question. Is it possible to request Premier Reward account from both Natwest and RBS - or are we only allowed to choose one of them?
Thank you!
