    no think its netgear one
  • had the same problem, for months used a wire then contacted sky. they emailed the following and it was easy to do and worked first time. good luck.

It may be possible to improve
the quality of your wireless connection by switching which
    channel
your Sky Broadband Box is broadcasting on. This can be done by
    the
    following steps:-

    *
    Type 192.168.0.1 in your
    web browser

    *
    The username is admin

    *
    The password is sky

    *
    Now select Wireless Settings
this is located at the top of the dark blue column on the
    left hand
    side of the screen

    *
    Scroll down in the central
white section you should see the label Channel

    *
Next to this is a drop down
box with a list of the available channels. We recommend that
    you
    choose channel 2, 6 or 11

    *
    At the bottom of this
screen is a button labelled Apply if you select this it will
    save
    your settings.

It still requires a password key - have you used this?

might have found my problem can't remember how i got past this before?

Have instaLLED again with new router that sky sent me. (got one spare if someone wants it!)

Went to connect and asked for network key tyoped in upper and lower case letters the key i received on the card from sky but got the following

network password needs to be 40 bits or 104bits depending on network configuration. This can be entered as a 5 or 13 ascii characters or 10 or 26 hexadecimal characters.

My network key is 8 capital letters

    any advice?

ps like at who wants to be a milllionaire the questions are only easy if you know the answer!

You seem to be saying that you have a network key on a piece of card and another one that is 8 capital letters!

If this is WEP you should log into the router as shown in the link in post #4 and change the encryption to WPA-PSK (right at the bottom of the page) Whatever key you enter here, enter into your laptop. It's as easy as that.
