Well just typical.... I tried twice more to reinstall the Halifax app and it opened up to the point where it asked me if I want to register a new device. Followed the instructions where they send you a number then phone you and ask you to input or say the number. Then took to sign in page and all working now.1

10 days since my OP and the problem remains. Reported to Lloyds 10 days ago. Useless?1

So after 14 days I can log in. First need to uninstall app on xiaomi phone. Then install the app which says upgrade available bug fixes etc on 5th February. Hmmm wonder what that could be?
Process took a while as the security call from Halifax shows the 4 digit number on the screen but when you navigate away to take the call you lose your log in, also if you say the numbers it says sorry code not recognised but if you key in the number it does! I then used my landline to receive the call with the code so I could leave the app screen open read off the code and then fully open the app which also makes you choose your privacy settings otherwise you will get marketing by email, text, letter, etc, even though I’d done this before. Tricksters.
Lloyds did recognise a spoken code. Otherwise all the same procedure.
Phew after two weeks finally got my app use back. Wasted an hour or two on this. Not impressed with their tardyness but got there in the end.
Moral of the story, who knows, it’s pot luck it seems between all these operating systems, Apps and their upgrades, security demands and somewhere in the midst of this is us little people trying to just carry out basic banking and sometimes getting poleaxed with no idea when things may be sorted.3 -
At least with Lloyds there's a web browser, telephone banking and branch backup plan. Imagine you had this same problem with an app only bank.4

Fingers crossed Lloyds gets an update soon too. 29th Jan v131.01 still not working (says rooted etc.) on my Xiaomi.1

Nope. Today's v132 update fails in the same way. Disappointed, but not surprised.2

Thanks for all the information on this issue. I have two Poco (Xiaomi) phones which are still on Android 13, MIUI Global 14.0.7. I will definitely not be updating to Android 14, when/if offered until a "fix" is reported here. I use Lloyds Banking App..

And it’s back! I decided not to update to the latest iOS weeks ago but it seems to have updated itself anyway and now I have to give three characters from my ‘memorable information’ for both Lloyds and Halifax which is a bit different than last time and at least I can log in if I remember my memorable information 😂 And Santander, Barclays, virgin money apps working as usual just like before.0

Yes, it reoccurred here as well when I upgraded my phone to HyperOS.
Lloyds say they are aware and working on a fix1 -
Almost a year since the last post and the problem is still there.Just bought a new Redmi Note 14 4G running HyperOS. I have numerous apps that use the fingerprint sensor, but the only ones that don't work are Lloyds Bank Group (Lloyds and Halifax). I use the Lloyds app frequently and can't be bothered to put in my memorable information every time, so have gone back to my old phone. Will sell the Note 14 and buy another phone from a different manufacturer if the problem isn't resolved soon.0
