Hmm. This is a very confident first post from eifzzz, and wow, they managed to purchase every item they bid for. My first post, not so long ago, was very nervous and short - it is quite hard to believe that eifzzz is not in anyway affiliated with Telebid.
On another note, I think I will look at this Telebid website, just to see after all these comments, although I won't buy anything, as I'm not even brave enough to use eBay yet!
I can assure you I have no links what so ever with Telebid (although I wish I did with all the money they seem to make) I have in the past lost a few auctions, items such as large TV's and Laptops, purely because there were too many people bidding on them, so I couldn't be arsed in the end, that is why i only went for the 'small' items. Obviously a PS3 isn't in the 'small' catagory, but after watching many of them slip out of my grasp, I noticed that they generally end between £80-£100, so I started bidding around that time. As for my confident 1st post, I like to type!0 -

I'm currently convalescing after a motorcycle accident, I have a little compensation that I "don't mind losing". I have studied Telebid in detail for a week now. It's not exactly a rip-off, however there are some very clever forces at work in the software and it always seemed to work against me. I took the advice of using a bid butler and, it always seemed to ensure that my bids were placed at inopportune times and always allowed others plenty of time to beat my bid. I saw some items sell for astonishing amounts of money, when you take bid cost into account. One item, as I write, is for sale at £864.99 (winner will have to "pay" £59 for the item plus his/her bid costs), which represents more than £6150 in bid costs for the single item - and it still hasn't sold!! The sell price is more luck than judgement.
Hats off to those who get lucky - because a lot of luck is involved - (look through the "winners", very few win multiple times).
I will never bid there again and I suggest that you do likewise unless you're one of those very lucky people.0 -
What strikes me about this type of "game" is that it is impossible for the "player" to verify that all "bids" are genuine.
Is there anything which prevents the game operator from paying someone to place bids on any auction when the counter hits 1 sec, thus prolonging the auction and increasing the profit?
Or, is the operator allowed to play their own game?
Just playing with ideas here; not suggesting that Telebid would actually do either of these things.0 -

I don't know if there is any REAL way of being sure you are not being outbid on eBay by a friend/relative of the seller.
I must admit that I am fan of telebid. I realise there is a bit of luck involved in winning (I haven't won anything yet), but I can't understand anyone who thinks it is a scam.
Maybe it's just me, but when I give anyone my card details details or pay for something with paypal I make SURE I have read & fully understand the terms.
Anyone who has studied the winners will see that it is very rare to place just a few bids and win something worth hundereds of pounds. Most winners will have spent quite a bit of money to win an item.
There are also some fantastic bargains to be had. An example from today is a Nintendo Wii which ended at 12:35. The final price was just £8.40. Telebid only made £60 (8.40/0.07 * 0.50), so they actually lost £120 on that item.
If they were bidding themselves do you think they would have allowed this to happen.
When was the last time anyone bought a Nintendo Wii on eBay for £8.40? When was the last time anyone got a real bargain on eBay?
I also love the time extension feature.
Anyone else frustrated/angry/disgusted by eBay snipers?
I know this is my first post and I am expecting a few fingers pointed at me and suggestions of my involvement with telebid, but I can assure you that I am just a fan.
Is telebid a scam - I don't know, but I am still waiting to hear someone say that they have got their money back, because telebid didn't explain the concept before they were parted with their money. In other words read the terms, understand the concept and if you still wish to bid, do so at your own risk.0 -
indeed it is

Telebid have been doing a lot of viral marketing recently but i don't expect them to last long once people realise how much they are paying for their bargains.0

I don't like the site. I actually love the idea. The creators are raking in the profit. A $1 (one pound) fixed price auction for a N95 just reached 599.20 meaning 8560 bets. Thats 17,000 quid on one item. Theres no wonder that there are the odd gems. And its "worth" going for, because you only pay for your bids and an extra pound. But there must be some way of verifying that some of the bidders are real?
Because you can't click on a link to show what they've won, there is no way of seeing a full bidding history. I seriously doubt that some of the names can really be real. Juli08 for example - Ive seen several times and the amount that these people "bid" is unreal - hundreds and hundreds of bids. And not winning anything. Surely the website has a duty to perform to show that all bets are above board?0 -
Hi Folks,
I found the site today through a link on my google mail account.
I read the T&C and I am fully aware of how much money they are making each time a bid is placed.
I was shocked, really shocked. Brilliant money making concept, but I feel that it could be dangerous for people who do not fully understand what they are getting involved with.
It is just like gambling, very adictive, like playing bingo, you're just waiting on a number, and always so close, but you never know how close you really are.
The thing with gambling sites is that there is help and support out there (for those with a problem/ addiction), but not for 'auction' sites
I will not use it as it's too much of a risk for me
....but that's just my opinion.

After coming across this site today it intrigued me immediately , so I studied and read T+C's and thankfully the more I read and understood the chances of me using it decreased dramatically. I applaud anyone who gets a "bargain" on this site but for every winner there are hundreds maybe thousands of losers and next time it will probably be you wasting 100's of bids on an item you won't win.
I've seen a few examples of the profits the site is making off single items and I felt I had to post this one . It's a 100% off auction so the winner has to pay Delivery only (and the costs of his/her bids obviously)so the price is relevant only in the amount of bids it has taken to get there
Acer laptop-RRP £1,199.00...........Current bid.........wait for it........£3269.49!!
by my calculations thats 3269.49/.07(bid increment of 7p) giving a total of 46707 bids @50p per bid. So £23,353.50 minus the item cost of say £1200 gives the site a profit of over £22,000 on this alone, but the item is still going , and its flagged for a night time auction so it goes on when the site is "closed" apparently.
Who's the real winner here? that's what I'm asking.0
