What a scam,
Been wasting my points / credits 100 now and still nothing.
I am such a sucker for these things I just wonder how many others lost cash there.
It's a waste of time. Their robots could be bidding against you.0 -

I was bidding on a DS and the price was going up by 7p and 30 seconds everytime, but my account was robbed of 50p. MMMMMMMm curious to why this site is allowed to run when they are clearly ripping people off. I closed my account after about 10 minutes only to be told by these rogue traders that I wouldnt get any of my money back. I paid via Paypal and they wont do anything about it either. Just beware, that when you pay this rogue trader for a bidpack, you will use up your bidpack money and be left with nothing to show for it. The only winners are telebid and the 1 winner fo the auction, whoever that lucky person may be. I worked it out that although the DS in question sold for about £16.00, there were over 600 bids. 6000 bids x 50p is £300.00. So TELEBID make £300.00 quid for sitting in their offices and laughing at us.
If you had read how it worked before you bid, you wouldn't think you'd been 'robbed of 50p'. I don't see how you can say it ripped you off when you don't seem to know how it works?Craig_Parkinson wrote: »i lost £50 on this site and not convinced that this is quite legit, got to thinking how many stooges are out there bumping up the price with bids? theres no way of telling if any of the bidders are workers for telebid. after that thought i packed up my wallet and walked away
That would be my concern to be honest. eBay can't really do shill bidding as they aren't selling the item and instead may win it, so they'd have bumped up the fees a little but then have to pay out the full price. Here, there can in theory be people setting up 'virtual' accounts in telebid HQ so that if they win, it costs them nothing.
Still, I doubt they need to do that as people appear to be having a great time spending without it (as this thread shows).
Telebid is a fantastic idea, upfront about what it is doing (unless any disgruntled telebid workers are going to say otherwise), and looks great fun.
Will I be using it? Not on your nelly! :jToyota - 'Always a better way', avoid buying Toyota.0 -
Whoever owns this site must be making a mint! I wish I thought of it. They don't even have to stock these items, they just purchase them once the bidding has ended and they have got well over 100% of the items actual value. It wouldn't surprise me if Telebid bid on items themselves to make sure items don't end with them receiving less money that the product value.
They can control the market like that.
Advice - This is basically gambling. Unless you statistically analyze the bidding history for optimum bidding times, you're probably NOT going to get a bargain. There is a very slim chance of winning a bid if you are just a casual bidder. Even if you like gambling you'd get better odds playing roulette or something.0 -
Alarm bells rang when i saw the prices on this site. I wont waste my money chasing dreams. However i am intrigued to know, is it possible to note the fixed price. Then when it gets close to it, start bidding in the hope that you win.0

This site is great, (in that it's making a killing off people).
This thread should give you all the information you need to decide if you want to be in on it or not.Toyota - 'Always a better way', avoid buying Toyota.0 -
My BF was just looking at this site, and I thought that the lovely MSE peeps would have got to the bottom of it. My man concern was with prices so low that the items simply didn't exist. But now I'm more concerned about the system. I'll let him read this thread and he can decide if he wants to use it.Money, money, money, must be funny....in a rich mans world.

Anglingman wrote: »mojam55, don't be confused by the price displayed. This auction was probably fixed price or 100% off. As such the purchase price is MUCH MUCH lower than the current bid price. It is Telebids way of encouraging more and more bids.
In the end Telebid and the winning bidder will both be happy having made considerable savings/profit at the expense of all the losing bidders. The concepts is very simple but very effective as it taps into peoples greed and in built desire for a "bargin". I have no problems with the concept of the site, you just have to be very fortunate to actually win an auction
