Website description vs Instruction Manual

As I see it, it's not down the supplier or installer, it was your mistake on not telling installer you wanted it on the LHS, as you knew it could be placed either side.ceb_3 said:Nothing physically prevented them from installing on the LHS. The installer followed the instruction manual. We only noticed the error once the shed had been installed, unfortunately the installer didn't query it with us during the construction.

How are you defining it to be an 'error', i.e. against what benchmark? Purely the fact that the doors are on the wrong side. We based our purchase on the image on the website.
So you hadn't discussed with your installers which way round you wanted it? - We did send the installers the link to the shed with the image on the LHS
If you already "knew" it could be erected either way, wouldn't it have been a good idea to clarify? - We weren't aware at the time of purchase that it could be erected either way. Its only since looking into it further during our complaint that we have found that information on the website,

Surely your complaint is against your installer?2

As the website stated it could be reversed, it's not the suppliers issue that you never read that before completion. Also you didn't read the instructions before installing, again supplier can't be held for what you didn't do.ceb_3 said:How are you defining it to be an 'error', i.e. against what benchmark? It seems to me that there isn't a 'right' and a 'wrong' side in any objective sense, there's the way it's shown in an image on their website and there's an alternative version within the instructions.ceb_3 said:How are you defining it to be an 'error', i.e. against what benchmark? In terms of exactly where the shed has been installed, are you confident that you'd be able to demonstrate that there was only one valid choice, i.e. that the installer should have realised what you had in mind?
Do the instructions make any reference to the configuration choices, e.g. in an introductory section?1 -
I would say this is the key bit of info - if the instructions made no mention of a "flexible" door position option then it is unlikely that the installer would have known thiseskbanker said:

The only introductory wording states ‘Install the product as per the step-by-step instructions within this pack’

Op - would you be able/willing to share a link to the product ?1

If they're professional shed putter-uppers, I would expect them to have figured out that it's a possibility...LightFlare said:

if the instructions are similar to the following -- then I can see why the installer made it the way they did. there doesnt appear to be any mention of alternative configurations:

how much would it cost for the installer to come back and swap the front panels around ?1
