Weekly supermarket shop completed.I spent £86.01 today. I’d put £80
on my totem pre pay visa card and it topped me up with my cashback balance of £6.04.
I took my son with me to help and we managed to get everything on our list plus some extra biscuits and an extra noodle pot for him. All within our target of £86.04, we even had 3p to spare. Apparently the extra noodle pot gave me extra mummy points 😁. He is so easy to please, bless him.My total is now £339.50/£500 this leaves me with £80.25/shop for 2 more shops. I think this will be fine if I carry on with meal planning and only top my totem card up with my target amounts. It will be £80 again and any cashback from the week before will be automatically topped up too so I’ll probably add that on like I did this week.
I’m not going to worry too much about going over budget if it’s by a few pounds a week due to the cashback being added when I top up. Overall, I’m doing a lot better than previously and we are spending a lot less than we used to so I’m happy with the progress so far.Save £12k in 2024: £13,542/£12,0008 -
Morning folks, just a couple spends to declare.
69p at Savers this past Saturday for matches. £6.94 at M & S yesterday for milk, brown sugar, baking soda, baking powder, and bananas.
We've finally run out of some baking items after a few years since we don't really tend to bake. The baking soda and powder actually expired and I think that's why the blueberry muffins I made this weekend didn't rise as they should have.
We're going to keep the baking soda for scrubbing and cleaning but does the expired baking powder have any use? I was just going to toss it.
£160.50 / £340.00 spent. £187.13 remaining.

This includes an online bulk shop of grass fed beef that cost £138.80.
This leaves us with £82.16/ week for 3 supermarket shops.
This should be possible if I shop from my stores, meal plan and stop sending OH to the shop for goodies.
@lovemula21 which online shop did you use please?

Well, it's all gone a bit bonkers here; I was away for the weekend and had spent £92.83 on various supplies before I went, leaving the assembled company (5 adults) £50 cash grocery money, just in case. But evidently I'd done a reasonable job of anticipating need, as there's still £50 tucked into the spice shelf! So the £92.83 has been added; I also spent a little bit this afternoon (beansprouts, mushrooms, sour cream, beans) but need to find my receipt to disentangle it from Valentines & my mother's birthday! Currently my target is looking perfectly do-able, but who knows what's just around the corner...Angie - GC Aug25: £106.61/£550 : 2025 Fashion on the Ration Challenge: 26/68: (Money's just a substitute for time & talent...)8

12/13 NSDs First shop of February as I've been really busy decluttering and also using up stuff in the cupboards I spent a total of £27.90 this morning in a quick shop to get all the essentials I had run out of plus fresh fruit and veg I'm hoping I have more than enough for well over a week to 10 days before I need anything else.
I'm really making a good dent in the frozen stuff, as my freezer was pretty full, and the tinned stocks are reducing fairly well also.
In a way its been really useful shopping from my cupboards as it means I have more time to declutter as I'm hoping to move by the summer as my house is on sale. I'm running the freezer down as I want to defrost it before I move
Onwards and upwards .
