Error messages? Most likely reason is you don't have Teams installed? Some Teams meetings can be done in a web interface but not all depending on how they're set up...1

The problem is you couldn't join the meeting but we need to discover the reason.
Have you used Teams successfully before?
What happened when you tried to join?
Are both devices compatible with Teams?Things that are differerent: draw & drawer, brought & bought, loose & lose, dose & does, payed & paid1 -
Do you have the Teams app downloaded onto your phone and/or laptop, or were you doing it via the web browser?
in what way were you unable to join the meeting? All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.
Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.0 -
Do you have a Microsoft Live account?
Download the free Teams app, login and then try making test calls - Microsoft Teams Test Call - Microsoft Community1 -
was the email address the teams invite sent to the same as the email address you use to log into Teams
in my last job i had O365 accounts for both my employer and the 'client' ( who was my employer before we were TUPEd out) i also have ap eronal outlook / live account and could recieve teamns invites to my gmail account
I had to make use i was logged out on O365 in both of the 'work ' accounts to access teams using my gmail or outlook addresses0 -
Can the OP join the links to the Teams calls using "join on this browser" rather than the installed application?0

Yes, but what exactly happens when you try. What appears on screen. What error messages do you see.1

Are both devices compatible with Teams?Teams doesn't use an obscene amount of bandwidth. It's probably safe to assume unless you live in literally the middle of nowhere and then some more that your speed is well above 1Mbps...0 -
As above, there are several problems you MIGHT be having, so without more detail it's hard for anyone to help.
Please check this link and see if any of the issues described match your experience: https://support.microsoft.com/en-gb/office/i-can-t-join-a-meeting-in-microsoft-teams-85f8eb98-b815-4007-90c9-0c56b87e288dI'm not an early bird or a night owl; I’m some form of permanently exhausted pigeon.0
