Had an interview from a link on teams for two interviews - one on my phone and other on laptop but couldn't join the meeting.   What's the problem?

Without any other clues nobody can say.  Error messages?
Most likely reason is you don't have Teams installed?  Some Teams meetings can be done in a web interface but not all depending on how they're set up...

The problem is you couldn't join the meeting but we need to discover the reason.

Have you used Teams successfully before?

What happened when you tried to join?

Are both devices compatible with Teams?
Things that are differerent: draw & drawer, brought & bought, loose & lose, dose & does, payed & paid

Do you have the Teams app downloaded onto your phone and/or laptop, or were you doing it via the web browser?
in what way were you unable to join the meeting?
All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.

Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.

Do you have a Microsoft Live account?
Download the free Teams app, login and then try making test calls - Microsoft Teams Test Call - Microsoft Community

Can the OP join the links to the Teams calls using "join on this browser" rather than the installed application?

No, never used successfully before.   Got a video hearing too on Teams and the internet speed I need is 500kbps/1Mbps.  I need to check this

Yes, but what exactly happens when you try. What appears on screen. What error messages do you see.

Teams doesn't use an obscene amount of bandwidth.
It's probably safe to assume unless you live in literally the middle of nowhere and then some more that your speed is well above 1Mbps...

As above, there are several problems you MIGHT be having, so without more detail it's hard for anyone to help.

Please check this link and see if any of the issues described match your experience: https://support.microsoft.com/en-gb/office/i-can-t-join-a-meeting-in-microsoft-teams-85f8eb98-b815-4007-90c9-0c56b87e288d
