Price has plummeted since purchase, anything I can do?

Last Saturday (13th Jan 2024) I took delivery of my new Air Fryer that I bought from very.co.uk for £249. I did get a 20% welcome discount and with delivery came to a total of £205. Today, 4 days later, they have dropped the price a massive £70 down to £179.
Is there anything I can do? I had a look at the T&C's, tried the virtual help (no email address) and could see no example of this.
I wouldn't mind if it was £10 or £20 but £70! I feel a bit ripped off or maybe I'm just unlucky and it's just bad timing.
Thanks.

Have you used it. If not return it and reorder at the new price?

But returning it and buying again the OP would not get the 20% discount for a first order.

Depends on how good Very are at stopping people having more than one account. Have known other stores that just check email so as long as you have a new email each time you can get the 10% introductory discount each time.

By the looks of it return and rebuy may be cheaper than the OP got it for anyway so it comes down to return postage costs and if the OP is bothered for the hassle for the sake of a few pounds if they have to pay postage and cannot get the discount again.

Very hard credit check new account holders on setup, as they are a catalog store based on credit by default.

Not encouraging an attempt to sidestep policy, but that doesn't mean the Very system will link the two accounts.

And depending on the terms (which I haven't bothered to look for) setting up a new account might not even be technically against the rules - the discount could be worded as for new accounts rather than completely new customers.

I was just flagging that with some retailers it can be a risk and the OP should be aware/check the terms of the account before working out what the actual saving would be.

If you've not used it I suppose you could return it and reorder but otherwise I don't think there's much you can do

There is also the risk that it might no longer be available.
  • If you've used it, can you buy another at the discounted price and send the new one back again but using the old receipt, assuming you can get a full refund in cash of course rather than a voucher.
