I have broadband that I didnt realise was out of contract . If i change provider before the price rise will the new contract go up in April0

Probably, but you need to check with your chosen provider.
The only one I know that guarantees no mid-contract price rises is Zen whereas most of the others do.Never under estimate the power of stupid people in large numbers0 -
Talk Talk offer is currently 6 months half price + price freeze until 2026retiredbricky said:I have broadband that I didnt realise was out of contract . If i change provider before the price rise will the new contract go up in April
New customer offers vary from time to time, prices can vary depending on source sign up via.
If in full fibre area https://www.youfibre.com/ worth a look to see if cover your area, no in contract price rises, fantastic Trust Pilot reviews.

Not too bad with Plusnet.
Lower inflation and no landline this time mean I'm +£1.97 instead of the almost £5 rise last year.
I re contracted in November knowing I wouldn't be paying £24.99 for long 🙄0 -
According to MSE.....
I don't know where you conjoured up this information from - but according to TalkTalk - they are not planning anything of the sort... I am registered as a vulnerable (disabled) customer with TT and will be subject to the same 7.7 % price hike as everyone else come April.....
If I was half as smart as I think I am - I'd be twice as smart as I REALLY am.0 -
Perhaps you (and others) should not sign up with the providers that include contractual price increases.BeerSavesMoney said:
Agree and that’s what I said in response to the Ofcom consultation, https://www.ofcom.org.uk/consultations-and-statements/category-1/review-of-inflation-linked-telecoms-price-risesHarpsichord said:If consuners can't leave a telecoms "contract" whenever we like for free, theycompanies shouldn't be allowed to arbitrarily increase the price in-contract. Absurd and immoral practice that not only needs to be banned, but consumers should be refunded for past malpractice.
Not that my opinion will make any difference to it but I believe that these companies should be able to factor in these costs over, for example, a 24 month period. The costs should be included in the monthly contract costs from the very start. If they are unable to do so then shorter contracts should be offered.Ofcoms solution is quite simply not good enough.
They don't all include such a clause, but the ones that don't are often initially more expensive because they won't be able to increase the price during the contracted minimum term, so you won't be able to claim you have "blagged" a "deal".Proud member of the wokerati, though I don't eat tofu.Home is where my books are.Solar PV 5.2kWp system, SE facing, >1% shading, installed March 2019.Mortgage free July 20231 -
Looking at my account, my broadband (Sky Broadband Essentials Plus) is going up by 17.2% and my Evening/Weekend calls by 39%! 🤬Everything will be alright in the end so, if it’s not yet alright, it means it’s not yet the endQuidquid Latine dictum sit altum videtur0

On with Sky at the moment to cancel. They're saying there is a Early Termination charge as I haven't been informed yet (no email), even though the agent told me they were rising prices from 1st April.
Anyone else received an email notifying of change from Sky?0 -
8.8% rise confirmed yesterday, now the Virgin Media broadband's gone down. Great.
A local fibre firm now seem to be able to offer higher speeds than Open Reach, so there should be more choice going forward.
