Broker for US stocks and options

Hey, looking for a broker that offers US stocks and options, can be in Sipp/ISA format but not a must. Spreads and FX charges at brokers like AJ Bell are just horrendous. Thanks

  • I use Hargreaves Lansdown for US stocks. Spreads have been fine. FX commission has worked out at ~0.4% but these were large transactions. Both within and outside an ISA. SIPP probably also possible but I haven't tried.

Afaik you cannot do options inside ISA, might be able to with a SIPP at specialist broker? Not sure.

Anyways Interactive Brokers for GIA is perfect for both frequent US stock trading and options. Lowest fx fee in the market. They also offer an ISA for £3/mo.

You cannot trade options in an ISA, but you can in a SIPP, if you can find a broker who supports that.
