Or buy one of these and a laptop that charges over usb:

No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?0 -
Thank you, yes an inverter seems a good idea. I charge my phone when driving around or via usb off the leaisure battery. I seem to have various electrical outlets around the van. (Haven't had this particular one for long but on previous vans just charging when driving is enough) I also have a small power bank - cheapy from B and M.
Laptop wouldn't be used for films/tv/music though maybe for books via kindle app. Van is converted Citroen Berlingo so space is at a premium. Thanks.0 -
Would this work for you?

Is it "£150 or so"?GDB2222 said:0 -
You could look for a laptop that takes power through a USB3 port, so that it can be recharged/run from a simple powerbank (which you may already have).Alternatively, this set of leads with interchangable barrel plugs can be used to charge just about any laptop from a powerbank (or any USB charger): https://www.amazon.co.uk/Adapter-Connector-Chromebook-Charging-5-5x2-1mm/dp/B0CBS1W2YD/If you are going to be doing a lot of travelling then getting a 4G mobile router may be cheaper/better than using your phones data (unless you have unlimited data on your phone plan).
TP-Link are usually good products, you'll need to get a SIM/plan but data only plans are cheaper than phone data:

You can go cheaper @ £100 with a 12 month warranty: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/3552498798860 -
Just bear in mind that the i5-7200 was launched in 2016, so whilst I the processor is still very capable the whole machine could be 7 years old. Battery life may be limited, etc. Personally, I would pay £100 more for a new machine, but YMMV. For a given price, you obviously get a better spec buying second hand.No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?0

It's not very MSE recommending a £100 more new machine and potentially sending a slightly old one to landfill because the battery may be knackered , batteries can be had for a lot less than £100 and will not only breathe new life into a slightly old machine but will help save the planet too!GDB2222 said:Just bear in mind that the i5-7200 was launched in 2016, so whilst I the processor is still very capable the whole machine could be 7 years old.
