  • Just a quikie on Mediation ...... you might as well talk to a guy down the pub who knows nothing about the great parking scam ..... same thing ??

So, the Ops Manager sacked MET .... GOOD MOVE but does he know what he has replaced them with ? UKPC ??  Why don't you show him the famous DCBL DISCONTINUATION thread ..... it's mostly UKPC rubbish cases

Talk about walking from the frying pan into the fire.
He needs to get rid of ALL parking scammers before this blows his mind

  • It’s like a bloke saying “I used to employ Beelzebub to manage my parking, but he abused my customers so I sacked him and hired Satan. What could possibly go wrong?”
  • Coupon - mad: Thank you for your reply, I'm glad that my defence seems good. Furthermore, I have submitted to the inquiry above!

Also - I have now received an email I was CC'd in through the Operations Manager at Stratford, please read his email and let me know if this could make MET Parking drop the case:

    Good afternoon.

    Claim No .xxxxx

I have been contacted by Mr xxxx who was previously a manager at one of our retail units here at Stratford Shopping Centre. Due to his (valid) parking permit not being wholly visible on one occasion, he was issued a PCN by your operative. Mr xxx informed me of this and I requested from your company that the PCN be cancelled as he was indeed authorised to park at our premises. I assume (my records don’t go back that far) that I received confirmation from yourselves that this would be taken care of, as I have no recollection of having to ask you again.

Mr xxx has now received a court summons due to this matter which is causing him great concern.

I would be grateful if you could ensure that the case against Mr xxx is dropped as soon as possible, and provide us with written confirmation that this has occurred.

Thanking you in advance of your help with this.

    Kind regards,

    xxxx

    Operations Manager

    End.

The email has been sent from the official Stratford centre domain with all necessary signatures.

To the other commenters - I absolutely agree that hiring UKPC is possibly the worst decision, however I do not think the Ops Manager had any say in this unfortunately. This was decided by the senior leadership of Stratford Centre. I have advised the Ops Manager to tell his senior leadership to review this again and remove UKPC as their partners.

They don't need a parking firm at all and should never describe a thug wheelclamper as a 'partner'. I've no idea how retail parks get sucked into thinking they 'need' this crap.

Anyway let's hope the discontinuance comes sooner than normal. There won't be a hearing.
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

  • Fingers crossed. I'm pretty sure MET cannot follow through with court anymore if the business they were contracted to has given permission for me to park at their vicinity.

And agreed. If businesses need to regulate their parking spaces, they could easily ask their own staff to do regular checks and ask people to move.

After leaving stratford, I was employed as a multi site operations manager somewhere else and made sure my staff handled any car parking issues rather than using a parking firm. Can confirm it was smooth sailing 99% of the time.

Will update if I receive any communications from MET or DCB legal.

Thank you ever so much for all your help. I truly appreciate it.
  • Hi guys, me again.

So neither I or the ops manager have heard back from MET after the email was sent out to them by the Ops manager.

Should I chase up MET parking and DCB legal about this or just wait it out and see what happens?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

Wait and see (assuming you don't yet have a hearing Order).

  • Hi, no hearing order as of yet.
I did cancel the mediation and got an automated response that the case will be now taken to court, but not date specified.
  • Update -

I still have had no communications from MET parking or their legal team.

Ive just received a letter from court that due to the mediation not working for either parties, the case has been reffered to a judge to decide in court.

I would have thought the email from the Ops manager would have put an end to this, however it does not seem that way.

    Advice on next steps?

When you get the hearing Order the discontinuance will come.  Patience!
