Hi
I would like to buy a sim card to connect to my Laptop or Kindle whilst away from home. Both are unable to take the sim card direct. Can I buy an adaptor to enable me to do this?
Thanks

Think the OP is looking for a mobile data solution.
Short-term use the easiest way is to hot-spot from your mobile phone.
For extended periods you could look at a mi-fi devices like these
https://www.amazon.co.uk/mifi/s?k=mifi
There are USB adaptors that take a SIM card that would work for the laptop but almost certainly not for the Kindle (but you could probably connect the Kindle to the laptop with a cable).2 -
Have a look through this for some info.

They are called Mobile Broadband USB Dongles, and you'll find plenty of "unlocked" used ones on Amazon. Make sure it says "LTE" in the description and has a sim slot. Wouldn't work for Kindle.
These were replaced by devices called "MiFi". Which is a standalone item which acts as a portable router.
These are almost not required now as your phone's mobile hotspot does the same job.
If you need to leave your laptop somewhere where it has internet connection, while you go off somewhere with your phone, then the MiFi is probably the best tool for the job. It also works for kindle.
All you need is an unlocked one of the above and you can put any mobile phone SIM into it. You don't need a special sim / account to use it.

Thanks to everyone looking at the mifi one on Amazon then I will get a sim card with lots of data monthly. Other half and me can then use kindles. I can't use current mobiles as we just have very basic plans.
Thanks again.
