I've just remembered that breathlessness was always my sign that I was anaemic. When not anaemic I could run up 3 flights of stairs at work. When anaemic I had to take the lift!dawnybabes said:Fingers crossed the steroids work, you should start feeling better with some iron in you (and should help the breathlessness as well)What would you get if all you got was what you were thankful for?2 -
I don't think doctors are very logical. They seem to see people who have a new twinge every week as soon as possible & put off seeing the ones who hardly ever go to see them, when it would seem logical that they are the ones who need an appointment asap.

I’m so pleased you’re finally being taken seriously. Hopefully some treatment will be forthcoming.I had a terrible experience when my mom passed thanks to non family members trying to cheat me out of the very small amount of money she left. They made a very upsetting time more difficult than it should’ve been and I’ll never forgive them for that.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)3

Hopefully 🤞the bloods were ok but I have to wait for an appointment for the CT scan. I was thinking of M&S thermals actually, I looked at them last year but didn’t buy any at the time but I’m going in in the week so will have a look.Makingabobor2 said:At last they may be on to something with your diagnosis. Hope blood tests & xray goes well. Stay warm.
And if you decide to get thermals. I've discovered MandS ones are the best. Thin so you don't know you are wearing them, but really cosy & effective.Original Debt Owed Jan 18 = £17,630 Paid To Date = £6,736 Owed = £10,8941 -

I’m just glad he repeated the bloods. I completed the two year steroid treatment back in April and thought it had worked but sadly not, it might be that the titration was too fast so that could be slowed down. They also use Methotrexate for people who have failed the steroid treatment but that has its own issues so would be an absolute last resort for meCherryfudge said:It's great you've heard back and the rheumatologist is clearly seeing something and trying to help. The steroids helped in the past, didn't they? I know they aren't a long-term solution but if they can reduce your symptoms in the short term it might indicate where to go next with your treatment. I had a quick read-up and it seems they are investigating other treatments for Polymyalgia Rheumatica.Original Debt Owed Jan 18 = £17,630 Paid To Date = £6,736 Owed = £10,8941 -
Thanks I’m so relieved he did those bloods. Hopefully this time it will workfoxgloves said:Oh, at last something to work on, @OBL. It must be so frustrating living with all that pain & tiredness & not getting any nearer a diagnosis, so I was glad to read your update. Fingers crossed that a treatment path will have you feeling more like your old self.

Thanks. Yeah hopefully the iron will sort out the breathlessness, I have trouble taking iron because it makes me feel sick so I’m hoping I can tolerate it.dawnybabes said:Fingers crossed the steroids work, you should start feeling better with some iron in you (and should help the breathlessness as well)Original Debt Owed Jan 18 = £17,630 Paid To Date = £6,736 Owed = £10,8941 -
I’ve been like that in the past so I’m hoping this is the same and it will clear up. I’ve been anaemic for over 20 years and they can’t seem to get to the bottom of it. Aisle£ if they thought it was diet related because I’m vegetarian but they said that was highly unlikely so I don’t know what causes it. My doctor said it’s like my body just doesn’t absorb it very well. I make sure I eat oranges for vit C because that helps your body to absorb it apparentlysatchmo1 said:
