  • Got all of my list done yesterday, managed a walk too! Didn't get as far with the assignment as I hoped, it was slower than I thought it would be. Had a pretty good day today, couple of loads of washing done as always!

    Spending yesterday:
    69.48 on groceries

    Spending today:
    6.60 bakery
    4.80 groceries
  • Haven't updated for a few days, April is turning into quite an expensive month, had to pay car insurance, mot and service, and had a big purchase for the house. Also need to buy 2 new car seats for my son. So I don't think we'll add much to savings this month, I'll be happy if we break even on it and then can add the last 300ish that we need next month when I still have an almost full pay packet!

Lots of spending today too as out for the day including pub lunch. Spending some quality time with family though so I really don't mind it, and it's been budgeted for. I think we'll be looking at £70ish for the day.
  • Had a lovely weekend seeing family and friends.
    Spending:
    Saturday
    11.25 entry to park
    10.80 stamps
    48.10 meal out

    Sunday
    2.00 parking
    3.20 laundry stuff
    9.33 toiletry bits in boots
6.49 McDonald's - this is the only thing that wasn't planned so probably shouldn't have spent this
12.00 sponsoring a friend running the marathon

Today both kids are at home, my husband should be around this afternoon, but there are a few things we need to do.
*Meal plan and shopping list - we have a lot in the freezer so hoping for a cheapish week this week
*Washing (didn't get any done yesterday so now an absolute mountain of it to do!)
*Money catch up - need to work out where we're at after a very expensive month!
*Package up something that has sold on vinted and get it posted today or tomorrow

So quite a busy one. Also need to get the dog out and potentially try for a gym session (this could be today or tomorrow). I've signed up to an exercise program to get back into it that is £20 a month for a 3 month program. Have finished week 1 which was 3 short workouts, 3 more to do this week.
  • I managed to get everything on the to do list done yesterday, apart from posting the parcel as my car broke down, so that's another expense to add to an expensive month! It's in with the mechanic tomorrow, and I think the payment will carry over into May's budget which overall doesn't make a difference, but will make April's budget feel a little bit healthier!

    Spending yesterday:
    6.50 coffee / soft play
5.00 recipe subscription that I used when pregnant - I have now cancelled this
12.25 - snacks and drinks when car broke down (had the kids with me)
    11.48 - dog food
    7.04 - milk and bread
35.00 - deposit for a hen do next year

    Money Saving:
*Managed to get 2 months free on a subscription that I want to cancel but has a cancellation fee. The cancellation fee gets less the closer to the end of the contract you get so this will save me £24 overall.
    *Cancelled recipe subscription

    To do today:
*Washing - already got one load washed and hung up, still have a load from yesterday to put away
*Assignment - I'm aiming for 500 words, this could be a tough one
*Food shopping - click and collect ordered this morning ready for this afternoon
    *Write final thank you cards
    *20 minutes in gym
    *Walk dog
  • Hey,

Great work, you are doing brilliantly!

What happened to the car? More importantly sounds like everyone was ok.

  • Just a dead battery, but definitely not ideal with both kids with me! 500 words written, walk done and 2 loads of washing done so far today. If I can get 20 minutes in the gym later I'll be happy, but depends whether my husband has any plans. The baby tends to be a bit more unsettled in the evenings so makes it difficult to get things done. Hope everyone has had a good day.
  • Managed to get in the gym last night for 20 minutes which means the only thing I didn't do yesterday was finishing the thank you cards.

    Spending yesterday:
£60 on groceries - this could have been less but we stocked up on diet Coke for a couple of weeks as it's on offer. Also a few toiletry bits in here. Continuing to focus on meal planning and shopping from a list.

Car is in to the mechanic today so will see what the damage is there, it was originally booked in for a different repair but needs a new battery now too so could be expensive! Both kids at home today so not aiming to do much.

    To do:
    *Thank you cards
    *10 mins on exercise bike
    *Put away washing
*Post vinted parcel - broken down car has delayed this!
    *Hoover round

Other general pottering around to do too if we have the chance. I try and make the list on here just my priority things!
  • Car is fixed! Not sure on the damage yet, will probably get the invoice next week. Yesterday was productive but not in the way I planned, managed to get 500 words written which was excellent, and posted the parcel but nothing else on the list done. Mostly because bedtime was a disaster and neither child was asleep before 9:30!

    Spending:
27.50 on lunch out for me, my husband and son
38.11 on Jerry cans and fuel as we had to top up my car but couldn't drive it anywhere, so that was a bit annoying!

Planning a chilled day with the baby today. Goals for the day:
    *Gym
    *Washing (as always)
    *Thank you cards
    *Edit 1-2 sections of assignment

Haven't actually managed getting dressed or breakfast yet as have a needy baby this morning so we'll see how it goes!
  • Morning! Everything but the editing done yesterday. I've got someone coming to watch the baby today though so I should get quite a lot of it done! Also managed to get dinner prepped in the slow cooker, trying to use this more to save us time in the evenings now we have 2 kids to deal with for bath and bedtime!

    Spending yesterday:
    8.99 on baby tights
10.00 on more thank you cards

Going for coffee with a friend this morning so will spend some money there. Coming up to payday so will be able to see what the damage for April is!

    To do:
    *Walk
    *Edit writing
    *Washing

That's pretty much it today, any other bits done will be a bonus!

    Money saving:
    *Listed something on Facebook marketplace
*Have got a lot to list on vinted so need to start thinking about that at some point!
  • Nice 2 mile walk yesterday, followed by coffee with a friend. Got a lot of my editing done too, over halfway there. Hoping to finish that this weekend then it's done with.

    Spending:
    7.10 coffee and cake
I was very tempted to buy lunch but avoided the temptation and had a sandwich at home, very pleased with that!

Got a lot on with the kids today so not aiming to do much:
    *Walk
    *Gym
    *Washing

    Money saving:
*Energy DD has been reduced which frees up about £35 per month - trying to use appliances etc when we're generating solar to save on our bills as well.
