Absolutely chaotic Christmas with 2 small kids and getting round to see everyone but we've loved it. Having a day at home now so our 4 year old can play with all of his new things and recover a bit!
I've got one room of the house back to normal, that'll probably be as far as I get today! Planning to check the money situation later - got paid early this month so kept it aside ready for January and need to work out the January budget.
Hope everyone's had a lovely festive period!0 -

Hi, thanks for checking in, all good here. Both of us are back at work now so things are just very busy!
In good news husband has been offered a new job which is a bit of a pay rise so will help pay for the insane nursery fees! I completely understand why they nursery need to charge what they do but it's painful to pay it!
Moneywise we've still got a decent bit in the savings pot, although got some expensive car repairs to pay which will drop it down a bit. I need to move some things around and do a bit of a money audit in terms of where we're keeping our investment accounts, thinking of moving everything to nutmeg.
Hope everyone is having a good 2025 so far, can't believe I've not checked in all year! Must try and remember to check in more often, it does keep me on track.0 -
Another month through the year, everything is ok, savings are about 1.8k short of where I'd like them to be but husbands bonus should sort that at the end of the month. Then we can get back to a bit of mortgage overpayment and investing.
I've moved our investment accounts as the fees went up and it wasn't worth paying anymore as we don't have that much in there, definitely want to focus on building these up a bit once our nursery fees drop in September (oldest goes to school).
