Yes it is exactly correct. It is a 720 resolution panel. It downscales from 1080i which does not make it a 1080i LCD.0 -

Are you sure that this is not 720p. One of the problems a lot of HD Tv's have is their abily to show SD pictures at a reasonable quality. Whilst this TV is not the best HD one out there I think it is reasonable to assume that it's SD quality will be fine. I trust you are aware that Sky HD is 1080i and there is a debate on what is better 720p or 1080i.
To judge a TV on how it is set up in a department store is sheer folly. How much time do you think is taken on each set?0 -
Still showing as £499.99 when searched for but goes to £899.99 when basketed. Also, the reserve and collect option has been removed. This one might not happen, folks.0

Oh - the great picture quality debate again!! Take ANYONES opinion with a pinch of salt, also, don't always go off the setup in the shop. They don't always set them up correctly! I have a Tosh, and spent £1200 on it a couple of years ago WITHOUT checking it out in store - assuming a Tosh would be fine, esp. with the spec on internet...anyway...I was VERY upset with the picture quality etc. for about 4 months and nearly sold it to get a plasma- until I learnt how to set it up properly - now it is fine. The HD quality is FABULOUS - in my opinion! ha ha ha! £500 for this screen is a GREAT price. The bigger the screen with SD, the crappier the picture will look - it's like enlarging a picture - it gets blockier. Also depends on the BIT rate that the video is encoded at. For example, BBC HD is sometmes poorer quality than other times. Suppose the BEST way to tell is get your !!! down to a store and check out the picture using the same source - not many places will let you do this - too busy! If you are not sure about it - read up on internet and check it out in store too. I would not buy blind again!0
