Renewing driving licence - change title?

I wondered if anyone knows if you can change your title whilst renewing your driving licence without any issues or added extra steps needed.

I.e. to change from Miss to Ms etc.

Anyone done this without issue or did you have to provide any extra documents during renewal?

Just want to do whichever has the least drama.

I did have a search but can't find much other than if you want to change title when you are not renewing which I don't wish to do. This is just while renewing a passport.

I know it is nothing major, and I will leave it if needed, but I would prefer it changed seeing as it is written on your card next to name for some reason.

Anyone know?

Hadn't even noticed they'd added title... it's not on my old photo card (yes I know) but is on the now expired one from 2020. See on the renewal online portal there is an option to select "no title"... tempted to choose that to see if it actually says no title

I know from my driving instruction days that if you want to change name they need some sort of ID.

However,(a) they have to guard against fraud, and (b) change of name needs a new driver number.

I can't see why change of title would need any of that. It's essentially meaningless except to the person involved.

FWIW I'd do it separately from renewal. You really don't want to confuse them by asking two things at once!

    Thanks for the replies all.

Just to follow up, I have been told they won't change it unless I do a change of name/title form even though it lets you select a different one.

Crazy. They want you to pay and return your licence just to change title even though I would be renewing it...

So for anyone with the same question, NO you can't change it during renewal even though it is just a title...
