Well best laid plans and all that....I had planned to finish packing what I started yesterday. But DP brought me up my second cuppa and said why don't you go out shopping on your own and take a break from packing. Didn't take me long to say yes. I drove into the city and found a free parking spot and decided to peruse some of my favourite charity shops at my pace without a child or DP there to continually say "look at this" meaning I never get to look properly. It was lovely 😁 I got a cheap meal deal from Mr T to keep costs down for lunch £3.60 or something like that? I bought a dress on sale from Roman, it's beautiful and full length and nips in at all the right places and is very swooshy and pretty. £32 spent on it though 🙈 I also bought a few bits in savers for mine and DD hair that we needed. I got a pretty necklace from the CS for £1.50 and a lovely vintage plant stand from another one £8.00..... I managed to sell a light fitting I had up for sale whilst I was out. The lady messaged me and I told her to go round as DP was in.....she was just wanting to view it I thought. She decided she liked it and DP had to take it down whilst she was there 🙈 but that means that was almost the cost of my dress. So really the hit on the bank account today was around 20 quid which wasn't too bad for a fair amount of bits all of which I needed or absolutely loved 😁⭐❤️.
I'm back home, cup of tea made, shown DP my new dress, he approves as it's low cut (ish) 🤣 and I'm going to finish packing some books up and maybe pop to the PO as I have some cash to put in from the sale to put my bank account back up. We've eeked out the food for yet another day so that's great. I think I will have to go tomorrow though as we are low on milk and bread. We've plenty of dinners in though in the way of potatoes (still eating our way through them 🤔🤣) sausages and burgers 😱😂.
Right off to update my YNAB so that I know where I stand on the money left this month.MORTGAGE BALANCE when we moved Aug 2024, £120,000. January 1st £118,267.06. I was pretty good though lol
I have paid the £60.50 ( £30 from the light, £30 from DP as he bought something on my card and I found 50p in the bottom of my bag lol) in through the PO so that's in my account so covers any spends today anywayone less thing to pack too as I wasn't really loving the chandelier any more so I am glad that's gone.
I have some boxes that DP picked up for me yesterday so I will crack on with the books now whilst I still have some energy! I know I shouldn't be buying stuff right before moving, but I have SOoooooooooooo many plants, I just had to have this! My little bargain from earlier.....

Thanks Beanie
Well this morning is turning into yet another one of procrastination on my part. I'm not sure why but all week I have struggled to get motivated. Possibly because I've not been sleeping well, too hot and when I wake up I struggle to get back to sleep. Last night I tried a new routine. I switched the TV off by 8pm and went and ran a bath, read my book, had lavender and salts in there and felt very sleepy by the time I got into bed a couple of hours later. I did go off easily but still woke up. I wonder if my body is just in a bad habit of waking now even when there is no reason too.
We went into town this morning and popped into the solicitors, we are looking at contracts being signed/ exchange within the next week we hope *fingers crossed please*. IF there are no more enquiries outstanding on our buyers end that is. The solicitor seemed to think we are done now but will check. They will also put forward our preferred completion dates of end of month- they're not actually our dates but our sellers, we really aren't too fussy so long as it happens before kids go back to school. We need an indemnity which is £60. We are praying we have enough in our savings pot to pay for all the little bits that weren't quoted for.
I suppose I ought to get on and pack really if we are looking to move with the dates we put forward it could be happening in less than 20 days
I will make a job's list perhaps that will spur me on, I like a list when motivation is flagging...
1- make a herbal tea to sip on rather than reaching for naughty lemonades in the fridge during packing
2- Finish emptying and packing the cupboard & sideboard in the front room
3- Remove light shades from 3 ceiling lights and start a box for these.
4- Take down dining room curtains as they are getting in the way anyway with us going in and out all day long and boxes right up against where they sit usually. They can be wrapped around ceiling lights.
5- make a start on packing excess kitchen plates/ glasses- I have already put them on to the dining table ready but they've just sat there so far.
6- scour local fb pages again for free boxes and bubble wrap.
7-make dinner
8- Go collect some more banana boxes from Mr T for my books. DP got some but they don't have lids so not the same as what I already had so they aren't stacking properly. The ones he got i will use for kitchen packing as I did on my last move.
Okay I think that is enough to be starting with....I want the majority of downstairs packed by next week as I will only have a few days per child's room with them helping -they don't want me to do it on my own so I will respect that wish but it means I probably have a day or two with each of them to pack their camping stuff & pack their rooms & pack a case for the other end of camp in the few days after camp and before completion.... so need to get packing boxes ready to be used for their rooms. DS is pretty minimal and DD is the exact opposite so hers will need time to do properly. And by the time they go to camp we have about a week to completion if they agree with the dates so need to be taking down beds, un-plumbing bits, sorting out paperwork and moving bits to storage and / or our new home (we've asked if we can bring plants and leave in garden which was a yes so we will do that) and probably a tip run or two so wow yes I best get started as I really only have 7-10 days to pack the rest of the house up over the next few weeks. Just counted how long to the proposed completion and it is 18 days...!

3/8 done I have made a total mess of everywhere in the process6 more boxes packed up. Just need to do a bit of moving things about now to find space to store them all... Just about to tackle no. 4 too so that is half the jobs done. Once I have the banana boxes I will finish all the books too so that will pretty much be the entire front room done all that is left then is to take down curtains, a mirror & canvas, take apart sofas, take TV off wall & pack the record player/ cd player/ dvd player closer to the time. I am overtaken by plants right now I really did not need to be buying more last week, I have them on every single window sill and side table
The dining room is almost packed up too so all that is left to tackle once done is the kitchen! I am going to add a few to my list too-
9- take some boxes out to the garage as DP has made space for me in the spider corner & got rid of the biggest ones
10- take some smaller bits of furniture out to the garage.MORTGAGE BALANCE when we moved Aug 2024, £120,000. January 1st £118,267.06. Wowser very exciting now you have a proposed moving date, well done on all the effort, it sounds like you have a lot of stuff. I think it is good that one of you isn't working right now to be able to do it all, it sounds to me like ever since you finished your job that you have been pretty much non stop busy, Please give me some of the tablets you are on! 🤩🤩🤩🏋️♀️🏋️♀️🏋️♀️❤️❤️❤️2
