I will not be doing that again! Although saying that the kids are refusing to part with some old toys ... So I still have around 8 boxes of old toys that they will never play with again. But that's better than 28 😆 which is probably what we started with.MORTGAGE BALANCE when we moved Aug 2024, £120,000. January 1st £118,267.06. Today is the first day in a week that I've not had to be up and dressed and out of the house before 8. How nice. I'm sat in bed. Grateful for hot tea in a mug rather than a bamboo cup (tastes weird) and am nice and warm.
I'm not sure what's happening with summer but we were both woken by rain last night it was hammering it down on the velux we sleep right below. At around 3 am I was very grateful for the window separating me and that weather!
Today I need to cook chickpeas up and make some falafels and also some protein balls with dates/orange oil/ cacao/ coconut. I am also cooking a Rogan josh veg curry for later.
I'm super happy that both kids have had two great taster days at school and said the students starting alongside them all seemed friendly. It seems like a nice school, small classes (less than 20 in most cases) and on par with some of the better schools in the area. As I walked around it reminded me of years gone by when I was at school (few decades back 😉 ) and specifically when I was at prep school...the feeling of it was much the same. A family rather than an institution which is what I believe most schools seem to aspire to these days. I can't afford prep schools because I cut myself off from my dad...so I think I've found the next best thing for free 😁 so I'm very happy too and glad I put my foot down about staying in the area when DP suggested relocating entirely. Happy children means a happy mummy. The kids are very excited about no uniform too and instead it is smart business attire so they get to choose what they want to wear within reason.
I will get my third NSD today. I have no trips out planned aside for a walk across the field with FLD. There are no shops there so no spends 🤣...if I walk him through town there is temptation and he's allowed into most shops so it doesn't stop me shopping when he's with me.
Can you believe it's Starting to rain again? Ugh.
Going to have a tidy up (how is it when you declutter you end up making more mess) and start booking some companies in for removals quotes very soon. Even if the move is delayed by a few weeks I need the quotes so I can know what I'm aiming for savings wise.
Having a little catch up on diaries first as I've not had time lately to do anything (& felt too tired with this infection I'm battling). And possibly another cuppa ... 😁MORTGAGE BALANCE when we moved Aug 2024, £120,000. January 1st £118,267.06. Ok so I have made a decision regarding where to save the money budgeted for savings this month. I have put my usual YBS savings (minus the money borrowed for searches last month) into the MF instead, so that account now stands at £2614.83. Which I am thrilled at! If I hadn't had to take money from it for emergencies last month we would have already surpassed that £3k goal. As it stands I still need another £386 before we move but this is doable I think. I will make a better effort this month to get some surveys done and put some more bits up for sale to try and make some cash there so it doesn't all need to come out of our budget next month.

Morning all!
Well right after I made my decision on where to send the savings I had a message from our buyers trying to push back the moving date because their searches aren't yet back and won't be until the end of July (possibly). In fact we are a little suspicious as to when their solicitors even started to request them...I don't think it was that long ago. As ours were back very quickly.
Anyway we're not letting it get us down. I am to remain calm and not take it personally 🤣 the last move we had I was in the depths of meno (pause) hell and I took every delay as a personal attack from the universe 🤣 this time I am not. I am not (and will keep repeating). Ideally though we would love to be in by end of August. And if it happens in the last week of August we will actually have two more months to budget for extra costs so I guess it kind of works out well. In fact my mantra for today is, everything is in divine and perfect order!
This morning I'm going to do some stretching my back is hurting a little and I don't want it getting to the point where I can barely move. I'm also going to give DD fake tan a go she had a lovely colour on her...she's super pink English rose colour...I'm olive skinned (pale though )and she didn't go in the slightest bit orange! It's a couple of shades darker than my natural colour so I'm going to give it a go as I've not wanted to wear skirts or shorts because I feel so pale this year! Wish me luck haha I'm not the best at applying to myself.
Got housework to catch up on today and some falafels to make as I didn't do it yesterday...the curry I made was absolutely delicious though and enjoyed even by DD who likes to moan about anything with veg in! Not sure what's on the meal plan today I need to find the scrap of paper I wrote It on 🤣
Oh DP had his bonus amount through and it's a good amount! I can't recall off the top of my head what the figure was but I will get it, figure out how much after tax and then see how much it equates to when divvied up over the months...I think it is going on for around £400 per month extra though rather than £300 I had to budget these last couple of months! So that's half way to paying the extra maintenance right there 😁

I have exercised! I feel good...I don't know why I don't make more time to do these things. I have plenty of time on my hands at the moment and I just get caught up in distractions. I need to set myself some personal goals I think...more reading, more exercising and meditating. I should be grateful for being able to stay at home rather than what I feel which is guilty for some reason...
I 'found' £35 in an EF envelopeso I will add that to my signature....so I am at £2649.83 now. I think I already have enough saved for removals and conveyancing but I am still aiming for £3k. I am planning on adding in at least £100 for take-outs for us (for 4 of us this won't be many). I also need to find the mortgage letter as the first month's is higher than usual....£900+ is springing to mind so I will go look for it. I am going to be very organised- not like my usual self- and try to foresee problems / extra payments etc and budget accordingly now.
Today I will get the ball rolling on getting some removal men out for quotes. I will feel like I have achieved something towards moving then.
I messaged our seller as DP was dithering - he takes forever to write anything so I did it and sent it and the seller replied soon after. He is working towards the middle of August still and can't really do the end of August as he has his children. He may be able to do Beginning of September...I guess I will relay this back to our buyers. I am sure this should be the solicitors/ EA job...but DP and I find it all comes together a bit quicker if we do it ourselves, que sera sera....
I did some squats and I am aching already....I can't believe how unfit I am. As I have gone through the changes of life...well...things are all starting to go a bit south, wondering if a collagen supplement will help but I spend so much on supplements already I am loathe to buy more without some research first to see if that is the best thing. I must spend most of my pocket money on supplementsto be honest though I think this has always been the case with me no matter my age. Always on some health kick or another...
DP & I have decided we eat too much. I am having digestive issues and although what I cook is healthy usually I do portions like it is my last supper. My nan and mum always portioned large and I just did the same. I need to actually figure out what a 'normal' portion should look like. As I was younger my metabolism was good and I could eat what I liked and not really go above a size 12/14....now...hmmm it isn't so good. Last night I did our usual portions but ate mindfully. I was full after half a plateand I would usually carry on......then have snacks after...... oh dear. So last night I put the half I stopped at in a tub, that is my lunch for today. I get to enjoy it twice now
and I made us a bowl of raspberries (from the garden) and YS strawberries with a small scoop of ice cream. It was enough but I did still have a yoghurt after as I had already prepared it with chia seeds soaking in earlier on....today I will have that earlier and not snack after dinner or pudding. I would like to lose a stone. But I would be happy just losing half a stone. And this will be MS on food!
I have had a joe brown catalogue through...summer sale...I haven't binned it yet. Someone please tell me I do not need another gypsy skirt or floaty top. Or those nice ankle boots in there half price
Waiting on surveys to pay out, I was lucky yesterday and got some good ones with a good payment reward so just waiting for those to go through and I will send the money to the savings. Right think that is all for now...MORTGAGE BALANCE when we moved Aug 2024, £120,000. January 1st £118,267.06. Oh I feel all productive today. I have reduced everything on v1nted and got one sale, only a few quid but makes space and also a few quid to the pot. I have got two removals booked to give me quotes and hopefully the third will get back to me soon. I have a wash on and the house is relatively tidy.
Been screened out of three surveys today so not my day today for them. I will take that as a sign to do something else.
Achieved what I wanted to anyway whilst on the laptop and that was read through reviews for decent removals and make some appointments. So all good. Off to do something off screens now and give my eyes a rest.MORTGAGE BALANCE when we moved Aug 2024, £120,000. January 1st £118,267.06.
