Thank you for popping by @skint_spice & @ladybird1106 the company is much appreciated
I think it is better if I split up my post as I know some people won't want to read about certain issues I am talking about. But I feel like I need an outlet and so they're going in here.
LIFE:
I have spoken to my friend, she is having a scan today and tomorrow, hopefully results back next week. She wants to start healing now and i've offered to help her with a meal plan to try and help. A detox & reset if you like. She doesn't want to do it at home as her kids don't know just yet.
Yesterday as I spoke to her, I found another dead bird in my garden and was upset all over again, the first one was a male blackbird, the second one was a female blackbird. My friend now thinks it was an omen for her and her husband. I wish I had not said anything but it kind of happened whilst on the phone.
MY sister has been readmitted they keep trying to get rid of her because they have a bed shortage. She weighs only just over 6st at 5'3" she is severely malnourished never mind the flu, pneumonia and possible sepsis -what are they thinking? I haven't spoken to our other sister yet for an update I will find out in a bit what is going on there.
It is my LAST day at work today, it can't be over soon enough, I have an awful pain in my heel that doesn't seem to be healing. I think I need to just get my feet up and rest it properly. I never seem to stop for more than a couple of hours in the evening.
My friend that finished work yesterday is messaging me telling me her power is out the day before she is moving and being down in the dumps with it, I thought I would lighten the situation by saying it was her nan popping in reminding her to defrost her freezer and fridge before she movesshe is now wondering if I am telling the truth and walking round her house asking nan if there are any other messages she needs to hear
that will keep her busy for a bit haha. (she knows I was joking). I will be sad I have to work my last shift without her but she is moving tomorrow so needed today off to finalise keys and tenancies.
We had Jacket pots last night for dinner so I need to go and prep something for this evening. I am cancelling the dinner out I do not have the energy. I was in bed fast asleep by 9.15 last night and slept until gone 7 today! Much needed although I am still yawning. Shock always does this to me. Other people get hysterical and I want to sleep
DP & I are both wondering if we are coming down with the very same flu my sis has and my other sis had because we are exhausted, have a really sore throat and headaches, my sister who has recovered said that is how hers started....I pray ours doesn't go to what they had or goodbye Easter hols! She spent two weeks in bed! And the other sis is obviously in hospital with it!
MS NEWS
I have sold something small on v1nted so will get that parcelled up and posted.
I have also got over £6 cleared and some more pending in pr0lific surveys I can cash out again tomorrow. All these little things I am making money on are for the MOP so once I get them into my bank I will send them straight over.
My child benefit has landed already because of bank hols.
I get my maintenance on Monday and the bills mostly go out then too- although it will be Tuesday probably because of bank hol, but once that has all settled I will see about filling pots with money as and where it is needed.
I have already moved the bills money to the bills account so that is done. Some pots have been filled but I need the next lot of money in now to finish moving money about.
I have plenty of food in but a few things didn't arrive on the shop so I may have to go to the shops for those, I am hoping not though and that we can live without them because I have already spent too much too quickly!
I don't think I have anything else in the house that I can sell now so I will have a wander into the garage and see what I can sell from thereOOO and also the loft! That might hold some undiscovered gems that we don't need any more too! An Easter job by all accounts lol.
DIY
We are trying to keep the budget down so we have sourced most things to do the small toilet free or very cheaply. Thankfully DP is very good and making something out of old bits and bobs and I am very good at filling and painting it to make it look good as newwe have half started the job but kind of gave up again. I think we will get it finished over the weekend if we can as DP has Fri-Tues off. It would be a waste of time if we don't do it. I am going to suggest we just give it one big push and get it done in a day or two. We have built the shelving unit (we I mean him) behind the toilet, it needs filling and painting, I guess my job now. And the skirting is on, needs cleaning, filling and painting so I guess another job for me. The wall paper needs going on, the window frame another coat and the flooring doing (leftover from the hallway job) so there isn't *much* to do in the way of big jobs, they are done. It is the time consuming jobs like waiting for paint to dry before you can do the next coat
We do have a sink but DP has suggested we get the house valued without it as he thinks it won't make much difference to price. I think he just hates plumbing jobs. If we do decide to put it in I have found some nice tiles in w1ckes for £1 each and we only need three so I will go back for those if we do go ahead with it, they are a nice sage green which matches the colour scheme.
Anyway the sun is shining I am going to get dressed and walk the dog early, just a short one though as my foot is sore. And he's so old now he doesn't care much for our 3 mile ones we used to do (thankfully). Take care all, thanks for popping in

It's Fri-YAY!!! Woo I have worked my last shift! I brought in sweets for all the workers, I also brought a card in for all to sign for the co-worker that left the day before me as the manager didn't think to. Got all the staff to sign it for her, she was pretty upset leaving on Weds after having been there 4 years and not even a good-bye never mind a card. Management is shocking in that place. I said quiet goodbyes to people I like there and left quietly, I will hand my notice in officially next Friday when I am paid. I think the manager knows I am on my way out anyway. I didn't bring down the house (so to speak) with accusations of her awful management and breaking laws and regulations. I did have a quiet word with a safeguarding manager and I have also talked two other staff members (our better ones) into leaving purely by saying, co-worker and myself will NOT be back
that was enough for them to find other jobs and they are not returning either
so I'm happy enough lol I think that is just the right amount of people we need leaving to make our point without uttering a darned word
all their best employees gone in one week.
Today is a rest day. My foot is in serious pain. I am actually wondering if I have a fracture as it has progressively gotten worse over the last month. Feet are in a hot bowl of water with Himalayan salts and lavender oil right now...perhaps a few days of rest will help.
Will catch up with MS stuff later on. But wanted to say thank you to all who have helped me to see that my job is rubbish and I am able to leave. And thank you to all MSE'rs in helping me re-focus with my budget and not feel alone in doing so because of this community we have here. Congrats on surviving the last shift. Dried chickpeas, I soak them
in plain water (no salt) for up to 24 hours and then rinse and pressure cook in twice as much water. I've not had a manual pressure cooker for a while though so I've no direct recent experience of how long you need to cook the soaked ones for - internet says 12 minutes for overnight soaked and let them cool naturally without releasing pressure . They make brilliant roasted chickpeas with squirt of oil, salt and cumin. My mortgage free diary: https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/6498069/whoops-here-comes-the-cheese

Yay you are finished with that job, congratulations on making it to the end. I'm sorry you have so much going on right now with your friend and sister, such a shock.
My children used to be horrid when they had stayed with XH overnight, and would take a couple of days to realise I was not the bad guy. Thankfully staying overnight didn't last long and now only DS sees him for a few hours every fortnight as the girls don't want to (can see what he is really like). It is horrid that XH is making your DS guilty for not wanting to go. Maybe the car wont be sorted before the holidays is up.Me, DD1 19, DS 17, DD2 14, Debt Free 04/18, Single Mum since 11/19
