I forgot to mention before that DP has applied for shares from his job. The company will match up to a certain amount so we just went with what they will match. So means take home pay will be slightly less but it means that the money will eventually be put towards my retirement as DP knows I don't have a pension (and the money that was put aside as pension has paid off work on the home, the car and other bits).MORTGAGE BALANCE when we moved Aug 2024, £120,000. Well I ummed and ahhed about going back to work today. For about five seconds. Have messaged in to say I'm not going in until Monday.
I don't even feel very bad about it which doesn't bode well for longevity of this job. Anyway DD has dragged herself in today, she only has two lessons. DS came home shattered yesterday and DP finished work at 4 which is unheard of for him. So it cemented my decision as my Thursday and Friday's are full on all day and I'm up and down flights of stairs several times.
So today as everyone will be out for a bit, and my washing is done, all contaminated areas are clean(ish) I intend to:-
- meditate
- spend an hour doing something creative
- nap if I need to (I did yesterday)
- measure up one thing to be moved from the conservatory before deconstruction phase starts (I've got to find homes for a large fridge/ freezer/ bottom half of the wardrobe/ large three seater sofa). I'm going to measure up the wardrobe today to see if it will fit in our room... hoping it will as DP temporary wardrobe he made us has worked okay but there is more storage in the wardrobe in the conservatory and it's solid. I won't be moving it today though 👏🏻😉
- water plants in greenhouse I suspect some have perished as we've been too ill to do much. I know one cucumber was on its way out before I even got ill. I might remove that and put a gherkin in that seems to be doing well.
And dinners are already made. It's like I knew I was going to be ill and the dinners I cooked for a few days has actually lasted the week...and the top up shop never needed to happen as we didn't eat what we had. So hopefully a cheap week when I add it all up. And hoping not too much wastage either.
Right cuppa time and I will get on with my list which I'm looking forward to 😊♥️.MORTGAGE BALANCE when we moved Aug 2024, £120,000. January 1st £118,267.06. Right, the rain has stopped so I am off out to do a bit of watering and assess the greenhouse situation. Then I may take a walk, I tried one yesterday with DP after he finished work and we only managed about 10 minutes before we were done in. Will aim for double today

2 bits of frugalness over the last 2 days- I needed a new office subscription because my very old word was not working (50p at a boot fair on a disc) it won't update any more and keeps giving me annoying instructions to update each time I try to open it. So I downloaded libre office today instead of giving into another subscription.
I also wanted to read a book but it wasn't free on my kindle subscription so I searched on the net for a free copy and found a website with hundreds of books on for free including the one I wantedYou just have to get used to scrolling past all the adverts every few paragraphs, after a few chapters I didn't even notice them

Aww we have some baby starlings come down to feed. And bathe. I threw some mealworms down for the robin family but these got here first 😆 so cute. One grown up one is sat staring daggers at me making sure I don't go near them but I'm just admiring and feeding 😆.

I had an awful night's sleep last night and am exhausted now. However, we have done the open day at uni for DD and it went well, and we are home, we made it in just before the heaven's opened and thunder was over us!
Time for an afternoon relaxing and dinner will be leftovers as we have so much still in the fridge!
I have spent an hour or so doing some surveys and cashed out around £17 in all, some has hit my bank already and another site generally takes around 5 days to get to me.
I've sent DP to the shops for some naughty snacks as i want a movie, chill and some food that I can actually enjoy and keep down nowlast night I managed only half a dinner again so I haven't eaten properly all week...and would you believe I have only lost .6 of a lb pffft!! So snacks it is.

Had a nice afternoon but energy is waning. I hope DD gets through her shift ok as she's really tired after this bug too 🙈.
I've been job searching. I've a few ideas for things I can do and areas to go in. Which is better than blindly looking I guess. I definitely won't be leaving my job until I have something else if I can help it. There are three jobs the same as mine at work for various reasons (maternity, retirement and someone else not sure maybe relocating) and they've been inundated with applicants and only invite a small amount to interview for these roles. I didn't realise they had this many each time. It makes me feel kind of grateful I got the job so easily and quickly with not even any relevant experience to the exact job 😳😬. So anyway making plans...
I'm also looking at a few courses I'd like to do, free ones hopefully. Perhaps they will help with a job, perhaps not, but they're interests of mine so I want to do them as opposed to only doing it for job prospects. (I think I'm a lifelong learner type of person 😆).
We went through dinners in the fridge and we all collectively went 🤢 no to the one we all spent Tuesday/ Wednesday regurgitating 🤣 that sadly got thrown away as none of us could face it. The rest have been divvied out or frozen and I will see what is left in the fridge tomorrow and do a list before shopping. I think next few nights need to be dinners easy on tummy still. So maybe some plain dinners like JP and salad etc. Nice and cheap too.
My aubergine is growing nicely! It looks about a quarter of the size of the ones in the shops so far. Lol. The plant doesn't look big enough to support a full size one so I'm going to see how it goes. There's about three more smaller ones on there too.
Tomatoes have flowers! Yay! I thought I'd pinched them all out by accident but I haven't!
Two cucumbers are doing well and climbing but no flowers yet. None on the courgette either 🤔. Not much else is growing sadly. Bit disappointed as I think it's the compost more than my non-skill (that's what I will blame anyway)....MORTGAGE BALANCE when we moved Aug 2024, £120,000. January 1st £118,267.06. I'm feeling better in myself the last few days. Sometimes a physical illness is what I need to put me back on track. It's made me realise I couldn't carry on as I was as I was getting more and more sick, emotionally, mentally and physically. I've meditated for three days in a row, I've already done this morning's one. And I'm learning to stop when I need to. I'm often on flight mode like a helicopter just buzzing around not knowing how to land safely and stop 😆😬. The overthinking is stopping slowly too. I catch the stream starting and stop it in its tracks (this has taken many years to master 🙈).
I've had an empty vision board since moving here and it's been purposely left blank because I don't like to fill them with fluffy nonsense that I'm only half interested in manifesting I find it waters down true intentions for me. I wait until I have a clear picture of what I want or at least a direction for myself. And that's starting to form now so I will think to make one soon and get manifesting again. I feel like I've learned a lot of life lessons these last couple of years and it's okay that they weren't all easy or smooth, that seems to be how I learn best- by my mistakes or detours in life. 😆 I'm thanking these lessons but starting to cut cords with them now and put them to bed and open doors for something else that suits me better to come in. 💝 And I'm slowly realising that all the conditioning of childhood of 'you must work hard to have all you want' is coming from a place of fear. We can manifest what we want from an easier place of love and creativity rather than fear and that's where I'm trying to head now...

Back to real life...
Oh! I absolutely need to take meter readings today too! It's just popped into my head. My app says my usage was only £53 last month I don't think that's right so need to submit them.
DD got home late last night so DP picked her up thankfully. I was zonked already 🙈.Today I need to sort washing, ironing and shopping out. As well as a meal plan. I've not much else planned so should be an okay day.
I'd love to go for a walk today too, I got my steps in for the first time yesterday in nearly a week and I felt better for it. So need to do the same today. 🚶🏼♀️MORTGAGE BALANCE when we moved Aug 2024, £120,000. January 1st £118,267.06. I hear you on the life lessons coming thick and fast atm … I’ve had a real penny-drop-clang recently about how hard I am on myself and want a waste of time, energy and joy that is …
Interesting thoughts about the manifesting and not doing it until you are really clear about what you want. Makes sense … 🤔
Hope you enjoy your walk 😊
