Morning all, lovely day again today. The greenhouse is turning into a bit of an ongoing saga. However it looks like we might be on the home stretch now! I've planted up some seeds that say it okay to do so in May. Others I've missed the boat so I've delegated them to the back of the box until next year now.
We've found a mouse in our garage so need to have a proper clear out in there at some point and remove anything it might have been snacking on. So much was left from old owners that I don't know what's actually in there.
I think a few jobs round the garden will be done today and a lot of sitting in the sun ☀️ and reading 😊.

Well it's my mum's birthday today. I meant to send a card but I forgot to be honest. Having not heard from her in years I assume she won't care either way. So saved a few pennies there.

    Speaking of family...
Yesterday when I got in from the garden and checked my phone I had a message request. It was from my cousin! I haven't heard from her since the last funeral in 2018! So long ago. So guess what, she's also moved out of London. And she's living in the same county as me! Around an hour away what with her on the bottom edge and me on the top...but still. Even better she's moved with my auntie and uncle, they all moved together. So that's three members of my family to replace the three that don't speak to me! I used to be close to my aunt, uncle and cousin when we all lived near each other. I was quite excited by this if you can't tell. Sadly my cousin had a stroke last year but she is starting back at uni this year and she will be attending the one less than a mile from me! Couldn't believe it. So I will see if I can arrange a meet up at some point with her/ them all. She has two kids and the last time I saw them they were small so I am ashamed to say I don't even know how old they are 🙈.

I got home from work to no fence panels down one side today (well half of one side) - 45 mins later we have lovely new ones 🤩 and the neighbours have given us the nice side! They look great. He's said he will replace the rest but he knows we have birds nesting in trees near the next lot that need doing. I'm not sure how to get to a few fence panels as if we cut the tree back I think it might die. It's been planted too close to the fence but it's mature not and I'd be worried about permanent damage 🫤 don't know what to do there...

The hedges at the front... mostly have new green on. But yet another one looks like it's giving up. So annoying. I will keep my eyes open for some replacements when I'm out and about as we've a couple of gaps out there and they will take years to fill out otherwise.

I've found three silver birches growing in pots now! I'm going to re-pot them into bigger pots and let them grow.

I've had an okay day at work. It went relatively quickly so that's always welcomed 😆. And I must remember to paint my toe nails later so I can wear sandals to work. I was so hot earlier in proper shoes 🥵. I got a NSD too which is always welcomed! Only two weeks left at work before I get a week off 🙏🏻🙌🏻.

Hrt update - I'm getting period pains 🤔 having not had any in a long time I'm a bit miffed at this... However the hot flushes finished just at the right time for me to be able to actually enjoy the sunshine and heat this year. Last year I was a melted mess.
I've got headaches still but these are hayfever ones for sure so hopefully the ones caused by new tablets have stopped.

Greenhouse is done and I need to fill it. I'm trying to not be too disappointed but it's not really the one I wanted and looks to me like a shed with plastic glass 🙈🙈🙈. I'm sure it will be lovely when filled with plants and lots of plants also on the outside so I will hold my final judgment till then. Right dinner....even though I'm not even hungry....

Fabulous about having some new family close by
Made it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became

In the event the proverbial hits the fan then co-habitees are better stashing their cash than being mortgage free !!

Yes I am thinking the same!
I am aware the MSE mouse has returned... they have been running through many diaries on here..
    DON'T BUY STUFF (from Frugalwoods)
No seriously, just don’t buy things. 99% of our success with our savings rate is attributed to the fact that we don’t buy things... You can and should take advantage of discounts.... But at the end of the day, the only way to truly save money is to not buy stuff.    Money doesn’t walk out of your wallet on its own accord.

    What a day.
At home now thankfully. Tuesday's are becoming like my Friday with bad behaviour. I'm sat with love on the spectrum on, on my own with a big bag of sweets and the door shut. 😌🤣 I'm not sure this is the best way to deal with a bad day but whatever.
Later on I'm going out to collect some plants 🫣 so that will be fun 😁 I should be out gardening but my back is sore I don't want to push it ...I'll do some tomorrow instead on my day off.
Would have been a NSD if it wasn't for plants but, well, whatever. 😌

🤣 Glad I'm not the only one @redofromstart
Mental note to oneself ....*Must not buy any more plants until I've found homes for all the ones I already have*

I've been quietly watching the interest rates go down on mortgages lately. I'm wondering if we should soon message tsb and get an appointment to see if we can get another top up mortgage to pay for the extension. The interest rate will be be way better than what we've already secured.... however I've held off as we are having to go through planning. In a week or two we should have had the time elapsed for people to complain about our extension if they wish too. I wouldn't see why they would. Extensions round here are ten a penny. One neighbour at the back of us has a two floor extension currently being built, it is the size of his house again almost! It's huge and doesn't leave much garden. So I think our little one will be ok 🤣 and they've said we could go knocking on neighbours doors to get signatures from them all to speed it up....but ...I've left it and said let's just wait as it gives us a few more months leeway to save for braces, windows etc and get financial stuff in order. Quite exciting though.

My dizzy spells have been really bad this week to the point every time I look down I'm feeling unbalanced. I don't think the bad hayfever I currently have is helping. So today as much as I'd love to do lots of jobs in the garden I'm going to try and just do a few instead and limit myself. The greenhouse is up and I have plants to put in it now 😁😁 and I have no shelves. However on one side I will be planting in growbags so I can sort those out today for the tomatoes. I also have some runner beans. I'm planning on putting them in the greenhouse too? Hopefully it's not too hot in there- they did well in the garden last year in our old house. But I don't have a bed prepared and I think I should use the greenhouse for what it was meant for. I have two grape vines too which I don't want to plant yet because we've not built the climbing system for them (unsure what we're getting yet so I'll just call it a climbing system lol) but I will put them in the greenhouse too.
Other little jobs which I'm going to set timers for so I don't overdo it:-
    * I will give the garden half hour of my time for weeding and that's it.
    * I also would like to have a general clean up as DP made the greenhouse little tags littered the garden and I think a few are still rogue that we missed.
    * Plant the sweetcorn I have and the courgette in the bed outside the greenhouse.
    Other jobs/things to do
    *See friend
    *Hang washing out
    *Empty bins in house
*General tidy round - bin bag tidy quickly with a timer
    *Water indoor plants!

That's enough jobs and all pretty light ones considering what I would usually get done 😁🤣.
Hope everyone has a good day ☀️

I think your runner beans should probably go outside. I start mine off in the greenhouse (although that probably wasn't necessary this year as it's been so warm), but they'll be happier outside. Save the space for the grapevines - or maybe put a cucumber or two, some peppers, or some aubergines in there with the tomatoes.

I think I've started the peppers too late. I did give it a go though and they're still in pots but nothing as of yet. I've got some cucumber plants from the lady. Every pot was a pound so I bought a few things from her I wasn't intending on getting like the runner beans 😆. I'll try and find space outside but they may end up in there as I can attach string to the ceiling in there for them to run up. I've not got anything made out of the greenhouse for growing stuff up yet... I could have a look round the garden though and see if I can find anything. I've one unused bed ...but it's not very deep....hmm thanks @greenbee 😊

With the dizziness, please go and see your GP as it might be related to an inner ear infection.

Loving all the gardening talk :)
