  • Well done on all the cooking and money mgt - £23k is an amazing and doable target.
I am of the just 'cook with random ingredients and trust in the magic' but I did go to lots of cookery schools. I even once spent a Sunday deboning, stuffing then baking a chicken I could slice (used to LOVE Marco Pierre White).  I was loved up  thats my excuse ;)   Now I am far lazier, however I still cook for myself every day.
I do love my pressure cooker though for super quick stock, soup and bean dishes.

That YNAB poor you are both  feeling leads to actually having serious amounts of money saved, debt paid down and not spent frivolously over a period of time.
I am currently feeling v YNAB poor but I do know even if I dont get any invoices paid before Thursday, I can cover my rent - annoyingly by pulling down some true expense pots, but still its doable.. Last months I had a ready to go 'next month money' pot all filled up, so need to, when I get paid next, keep some back from this instead of sending off to hse deposit places.
    DON'T BUY STUFF (from Frugalwoods)
No seriously, just don’t buy things. 99% of our success with our savings rate is attributed to the fact that we don’t buy things... You can and should take advantage of discounts.... But at the end of the day, the only way to truly save money is to not buy stuff.    Money doesn’t walk out of your wallet on its own accord.

Really impressed with your steady, even handed approach to the CC, car insurance and the mortgage. Love that you have managed to work out how to OP just the higher rate mortgage too - that’s some serious OP-Fu … 😉😊

Good luck with the shoulder and the digging. I’ve finally had the appointment come through for my physio review and mine is waking me up at night again so I will have to dial the clearing work back again for a bit - so frustrating! So, I got out in the shed and sowed some broad beans sweetpea seeds to overwinter as little plants ready from next spring 🤞😊

    How’s the dizziness now?

    KK
I did my rotar cuff in years ago this is an old injury and every time I do too much DIY or gardening it plays up again. I hope your physio helps  I can't wait to have a greenhouse or potting shed or anywhere to just do some gentle, easy gardening, I am still on the tough ground works atm which is exhausting.
Dizziness yesterday was okay, had lunch today and after felt all woozy again, checked ingredients in the falafels....flour *duh* why I didn't think about flour in them I don't know. Thankfully only had a small amount but also a little scary how such a small amount immediately effected me.
    MORTGAGE BALANCE when we moved Aug 2024, £120,000. January 1st £118,267.06. May 1st, £116, 123, June 1st, £115,536, New mortgage added for extension- £165,000 July 1st!

I think 23k could be manageable too...although we have a lot of gardening, diy projects planned but I fully intend to try my best on it! I have done crazy things thanks to being loved up too  I have to explain the ynab poor to the kids and DP as they were confused. DP gets it, the kids are like.......it's there!!! SPEND it! I can't wait to get to the point of having lots of pots again like I used to (from the first time I used YNAB). It is really helpful to every day living and keeping stress levels down on money matters. I don't have many true expense pots with much in atm  working on it though...

  • FLD is home. On the sideboard, picture found for the box, and a card next to it from the vets. :disappointed: Was very sad and surreal picking your dog up in a box. 😥😥
I have finished the bed in the garden and i am in agony!!! Painkiller taken...I nearly stopped but 1- I was so close to the end, 2- I really wanted these plants in the ground before proper frosts get here...I have made it just. I saw some frost on the leaves the other day but the ground isn't frozen yet so yay I made it!
    NSD today
Bank stuff done too. Managed to find an hours parking in the city for free, squeezed into the space and was only gone 25 minutes so saved on parking fees.
Productive and sad day today so a bit of a mixed one.
Window cleaner is coming tomorrow, £20 for all of the windows even the hard to reach ones above the car port and conservatory, I nearly bit his hand off at that price. So I have the cash out ready for that one and will ask him how much to do the gutters too, as he said he could do them.
Right suppose I ought to go make some dinner now, quite looking forward to that

Mine is rotator cuff too. Annoying isn’t it?! 😉😊
I suspect you are just a bit sensitised atm - hopefully it will calm down as your gut heals … 🤞
Hugs for FLD’s return … Are you planning on scattering him somewhere or will you plant him in the garden? ❤️
That’s a cracking price for the window cleaner - looking forward to hearing about the view from that window that is completely obscured atm! 😉😊

Me too...I actually spoke to DP earlier about this and am getting a little fed up with my choice of foods getting smaller, I am debating getting some chickens again in the new year for the garden, we had them before and they were such fun characters  I might add eggs back into my diet if I have my own chickens....also am tempted to look into keeping a bee hive 🤔

I am thinking perhaps putting some in the garden but will have to decide where yet and under what
