I used to have my neighbours just walking into my garden as we had no fence out the back.  They also would let themselves into my kitchen and then living room if I was upstairs.  We now have a lovely high fence and a side gate that keeps them all out.  One neighbour did ask for a key so he could let himself in.  I said no politely and he was a little put out.  I now feel safe leaving the door open in the summer and I can go in my garden without them turning up.  They also watch from their garage window straight into our kitchen quite a lot.  Plants have been planted which is good until the leaves fall in autumn.  I hope you get a new fence panel very quickly :)

  • @slm6002 that neighbour sounds scary.
@debtfreewannabe321 err .... what is she expecting you to do, I guess XXL spikey trees are the way forward

I will try this bean burger recipe and use flaxseed, maybe almond flour  and extra eggs instead of the oats  as I will try to make it slow carb - I will report back. I also find guac works well with all beans as a side.

    DON'T BUY STUFF (from Frugalwoods)
No seriously, just don’t buy things. 99% of our success with our savings rate is attributed to the fact that we don’t buy things... You can and should take advantage of discounts.... But at the end of the day, the only way to truly save money is to not buy stuff.    Money doesn’t walk out of your wallet on its own accord.

Ah, I have some ground almonds - good shout. I might do a 50/50 ground almonds / oats 😊

I have just started to catch up.  Am so sorry about FLD sending much love although late. Hugs x
Made it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became

In the event the proverbial hits the fan then co-habitees are better stashing their cash than being mortgage free !!
  • KK I will keep reading! DP is a bit worried about my dizzy spells too they're unusual for me but i may have figured out the pattern to them. (more on that in a mo) LWAP eggs would be a good binder...I had that thought for making them for the kids too. I don't have any ground almond flour but sounds good.
SLM I couldn't believe the cheek of it, and she just lets herself through whenever she feels like it. She's done it a few times now, although it was usually DP she's walked in on not me. He's not as bothered as me but my home is my sanctuary- none shall enter without the password
Thank you Watty, I still can't talk about it without tearing up... I'm really not good when it comes to death, even though my beliefs tell me our soul never dies I still find it really hard that I will never see them again in this life.

DP and I had a date day today, we've hardly seen each other all week as he's either been on teams calls locked in the office or across the country for in person meetings, he didn't get home until 8 ish last night too after traffic held him up. We got some jobs ticked off the list too whilst in town, went to the bank and tried to add me to the bills account as we have been trying and failing to follow instructions on the email. Seems there is a technical glitch and lots of people are experiencing the same. So that is done. Although might take a few days to show. It means we both have access to sort bills out then. I went to the Hal1fax too I am having trouble sorting my account out ( CC ) as the account is linked to an old phone number meaning I can't change the pasword online (forgot password oops) because I fail security checks *rolls eyes* then my account is in my married name I have changed everything back to maiden -somehow forgot this one, probably because I have not used it in a few years- also it is wrong address obviously so yeh basically it's all wrong. I need to go back with some extra ID and that can be changed. Good job too as redirection from RM runs out very soon.
Brought back some CS dvds as they were wrong region, swapped for more. Took back library books. And went to p1zza express for our 'date' i had a £30 Clubcard voucher turned into pizza money so only cost £16.

I was fine this morning when we went out. Had pizza and went round the CS, I came over all dizzy and nearly fell over, dramatics over  and back outside I got myself back to the car on wibbly wobbly feet. Overcome with tiredness too. Sat and thought about all the times this week it has been bad- right after I have eaten. Was literally racking my brains, what did I eat. GLUTEN. I am mainly good but I give in sometimes, It is SO hard to try and find food that is not only vegan, sulphite free, aspartame free but now gluten free that yeh I am lazy with it. So here we are...I am once again kicking myself, I am off gluten now :disappointed: as well as everything else. You would think I was like the size of a stick with what little I allow myself to eat, but sadly not. Writing this here for accountability. Please tell me off if you hear me say I have been eating cake, pizza, bread that is not GF. GF intolerance online doesn't mention my symptoms but gluten ataxia mentions it- clumsiness and dizzy spells. Fingers crossed stopping it will put an end to this. It's quite scary when your balance is so off.

DP next pay is on Monday so can't wait to update with what plans we have for paying CC off and surviving the month until our next full wages (and perhaps I will have some of mine by December too as I start on the 4th Nov.)

We have a few things lined up to do in Nov so will need to budget for them- a night out (tix already paid tho), spiritual evening (tix paid again) and I promised kids cinema trip (have applied for a taste card apparently there is odeon deals but dunno if on food only or if applies to tix too?) Anyway off to chill, feel bad for not helping DP he has painted some kitchen cupboards and is out digging for me...I am sat watching the room spin!

    MORTGAGE BALANCE when we moved Aug 2024, £120,000. January 1st £118,267.06. May 1st, £116, 123, June 1st, £115,536, New mortgage added for extension- £165,000 July 1st!

Glad I’m not the only one worrying! 😉 Hope going GF helps and swiftly!

It might be worth taking your marriage certificate (if you still have it) in with you to the bank to get the bills account set up in your maiden name, as at least that shows traceability of the name change?

No feeling bad about DP doing things. He’s been away all week, stuck in meetings and offices and has probably been itching to get stuck into his home and helping you, so for him it will be a double win 😊❤️

  • 🤞omitting gluten from your diet works. It’s so hard when you are limited what you can eat. I’m a gluten free vegetarian who also can’t eat or drink alcohol ,chocolate, caffeine, bananas and cinnamon. The last 4 give me migraines.
    Hope you feel better soon.

  • I tottered on the gf on/off for decades - but have now been firmly GF for 4 years and the difference is amazing - they say it takes 6 months to get Gluten out your system/gut  - which always stops  me having some. Main thing is to get organises when travelling/away from home/hungry ...

I take chorella which also helps.

I became coeliac as an adult but my DS was diagnosed age 7 so we’d been totally GF  at home for years - I just ate it when out till I suddenly overnight started reacting violently to it!  (And was always anemic with not reason ……)
