Thanks for the feedback 😊 Did you make your own salsa or buy it in?

I bought it in. I was going to make my own but I didn't bother. Ps I'm up to page 111 on your diary now 🤣 I might get to the last page before the end of the year 😄

  • I've just watched a really interesting programme on prime about a guy who ate a Japanese diet for twelve weeks. He lost a tonne of weight and looked much healthier.
I'm now wondering how I can incorporate some of these things into my diet. I already eat tofu but I need to have a search of what other vegan foods they eat that I can replicate easily at home. I used to hate sushi but when I turned vegan I tried it again and actually really liked it (wasn't a fan of raw fish) so I am going to see if I can make some at home - and sell it to the kids and DP as yummy!

Anyway I was on YNAB earlier and felt a bit glum at the fact we've got debt now as it's thrown me off my game of OP. I've decided that just one over payment of what I pay monthly (£660) split through the year is the way to go for now. So 660/12 which is 55 (although the calculator rounded it up to 60 for some reason). I put it into the OP calculator and it means we could pay the mortgage off 2 years earlier. So I'm tempted to just change the DD at this point or set up a SO to go straight to the mortgage for this amount. It is only just over £700 and when I hear what my friends pay on renting I think - yep I can afford that! 18 years left sounds better than 20!

I am  I am interested to know how much you are going to make in total from your garden produce for the year, I think you're over the £100 now! And I want to know if you ever found wild rice cheap anywhere because it costs a fortune and I am quite partial to it as well :joy:

  • Morning, I have woken up to a heavy blanket of fog outside the windows. It's quite eerie when it is dark still, it feels like it is looking back in at you.

I have spoken to DP he was still out partying at 2am 😯he's not usually one for going out that late so I bet he is feeling it today. And he has to go to meetings, catch a flight and drive home yet before he can rest his head.
I've woken up with the strange dizzy feeling I had before. I am also off balance. It feels mildly like vertigo but not anywhere near as bad. Seems to ease off when I get up and start moving about. 🤔

I finished a book last night, it was a good read, crime thriller novel. I didn't pay for it I swapped it out at a book hub place where you can just take a book you fancy. I will take it back to there and see if there is another one I like the look of.

DP has had his old pay today. So that was his final pay pack. I've manually input it into YNAB and all our bills are covered for November with this, as well as some pots like yearly subscriptions and groceries for the first week 👏. We have around 550 left in ready to assign at the moment - I won't fund anything else just yet. He will get his first pay pack from his new job on Monday I think. We will see what that is and then decide how to get rid of that CC first before I assign anything anywhere else. I also get 560 maintenance & CB. I should get my wages but hmmmm who knows on that, it isn't a great deal but we need it this month to pay off CC. I would love to have enough to get through the month without worry AND put enough in the xmas fund to pay for xmas as well as make only a small dent in the EF to get us straight. A MOP on top would be the icing on the cake but I am not seeing this happen realistically until we have both our new wages coming in. SO that is my goals anyway.....! I can't do anything until DP is home anyway as the wages are in his account. I have told him to not spend that if he can help it and just the money he has leftover from this month. His trip is expensed and can be put straight on business CC that finally arrived. So we shouldn't have to use our personal CC any more once paid off. And he shouldn't have to use his money as food and drinks are all paid for by work....however last night's jaunt....hmm I dunno how that was paid! I will find out later no doubt.

I need to brave the cold today and walk to the shop, i am out of tea (disaster) and also a couple of other bits which i have forgotten hmmm knew I should have made a list...?!
Anyway unless the fog lifts I won't be digging up the garden today. Shops and perhaps finally get some paint on that cupboard and do some more kitchen cupboards!

I think I will make a ratatouille for dinner, the aubergine was looking a little bruised so i think I am best cooking that asap.

  • I want to go out for some fresh air but I am still wobbly on my feet. I haven't had this since I had vertigo years ago. First time since then was last week when I wasn't in a good place emotionally (and didn't sleep well)....? Wondering if it is blood pressure or...? I think I will go out anyway it is about a ten minute walk to the SM and I can take it slowly.

When we moved to this house one of our first jobs was to tidy the front drive/ garden. We moved a humongous spiky plant in a pot that was on the border wall of our property adjoining the neighbour. As soon as we did it we realised WHY it was there. It blocked the view of the neighbour into our front room. Why would she stand there staring in, don't be paranoid, I can hear you all saying..... because that is what I said when we moved it.... As if she would stand there and stare in, gawd the last owners were so paranoid....well she does. She goes to her green bin which just happens to be the other side of the wall at least a dozen times a day. And the brown one. Not even kidding. IN all weathers. She is retired and is nosey as hell she stands there pretending not to look in. We have a bay window too and our sofas currently are kinda in the bay bit so she practically just stares at you whilst filling her bin as slowly as she can  Well I just got up, smiled and shut the blind on her. Hopefully she will get the message although I doubt it. Did I tell you she was super friendly with the owners before us (actually it was about 3 owners ago so probably over 10 years ago) and so they took down a part of the fence and installed a gate! So they could pop in and out of one another's gardens/ houses as they pleased. I was out there digging yesterday when I could hear behind me, "Cooooeee DFW, Cooooeee" I nearly had a heart attack! Turn round and she is in my garden and half way up the bleeding path. WTH. I told DP to buy more spiky plants and a padlock or a fence panel of our own. My garden is my private space and I don't want your witchy squirrel murdering dark energy on it missus back to your own side! Okay rant over, I am going to brave the fog, that is slowly lifting, and pop to the shops. I might even treat myself to a cake.

Now I want to know if you found wild rice any cheaper, it’s my son’s rice of choice !

Have you taken. An anti histamine ? It can help reduce the fluid if you’re feeling a little dizzy (DS had vertigo for years on and off as a child)

  • Hmm no I haven't @dawnybabes I will go find one! It's awful I hate being off balance. I'm clumsy as a person anyway but all day I've been walking into door frames and walls 🤦🏻‍♀️
I just went to Tesco and picked up some reduced manuka honey (I give it to the kids when they're not well) and some reduced tablets for menopause. Tried to pay and my card was declined three times. You know when the shop is totally empty and you go to the till and then four people appear out of nowhere right behind you...yeh that happened whilst I'm trying to look at my phone screen to transfer money into right account (I picked up wrong bank card duh!) and feeling panicked. THEN would you believe it I went and did the exact same thing at the till in Mr T 🤦🏻‍♀️ safely back home from peopling and had lunch (l/o dinner) and have a big bag of crisps to myself and am watching TV. I never do this during the day but feeling unbalanced has put a stop to any work today. The walk to the shop was bad enough.

DP has a horrendous hangover 🤦🏻‍♀️ I've told him to get a large meal at BK or MCds to soak up the alcohol 👀🙈 he has a three and half hour drive home after his train trip 🙈 oh jeez you think you'd learn at his age 🤣 he has another teams meeting to go yet too ...I bet he will be recovering all weekend now!

  • Gawd I am shattered, have done 3 hours of inductions for the new job. Usual induction health & safety booklets and safeguarding etc etc all the same stuff I have done already but need to do again. Interestingly I sent the answers off to the quiz I had to do and it was to a friend  I knew she worked there but wasn't sure what she did.
I need to go in on Monday to hand over some I.D for my dbs checks (I already have two of these, seems such a waste of money you have to keep redoing the same things when you move jobs). DP is an hour away, my eyes are shot so I am off to prep dinner, put a record on and maybe have a bath as I can't warm up today! Dizzy spells not subsided just yet either so getting off screens for this eve I think.

Yes, over £100 from the garden but don’t think I will make the £300 ‘target’. It’s been a tough year - keep reading you will see why.
I never did find the cheap wild rice source, so over to you now …. 😉

I have ordered salsa and kidney beans in my weekly shop for tomorrow morning as you have inspired me to try again at a bean burger! I will let you know how I find it 😊

I’m a little worried about your wibbly-wobbliness and feeling cold etc. Should you ring 111 do you think?
