  • Okay I've contacted a window cleaner this morning. I can't reach certain windows in the house because of conservatory and car port in the way. If they can do it and the quote isn't too bad I will book them for after pay day. One (loft) window we actually can't see out of it is that dirty on the outside.

I've contacted payroll again. I can't actually believe their last email...if the store manager doesn't agree to you having worked those hours...we won't pay you. Unreal so I may have worked 20+ hours for nothing? Anyway I've asked for their next pay run date and contact details for who I go to next should I not get paid and need to take this further.

I'm feeling down in the dumps and trying hard to maintain an equilibrium at the moment but it's hard. So just letting myself feel the emotions and trying to remain somewhat optimistic that this too shall pass....

I've eaten a good meal this morning, GF toast, avocado, mushrooms and tomato with rocket. I'm going to get myself to the post office in a mo and perhaps try to finish painting my cupboard I started last week.

  • Been to collect my parcel from a very grumpy PO lady. Was hoping for a smile and polite conversation but nope snappy one word replies and a lot of huffing and puffing because I wasn't sure on the date the parcel had arrived- I've never collected a v1nted parcel from the PO before and wasn't sure on protocol or what I needed to provide. Was enough to set me off crying. AGAIN. In the car on the way home. Feeling very down in the dumps. Need to hold it together though or I know DP will cancel his week away with work and he's so new it might impact on him. Which is the last thing we need right now. So holding it together until tomorrow if I'm able.
A reminder to me ... always be kind if you are able to. Because you never know when someone might be struggling and really need a smile or a kind word or gesture.

I'm going to get changed and get some fresh air as the rain has stopped. I will do some gardening I think. Plan where I want my fruit bushes and canes as they need to go into the ground anyway. Exercise is always good for stress and overwhelming emotions (my fault for being a double Pisces huh am too emotional and sensitive 😉).

I didn't say anything to her. But I just felt it unprofessional. But this seems to be a recurring theme these days. I've worked in the service industry and retail most of my working life and it didn't matter what was going on in my home life I never took it to work. I'll get my parcel delivered elsewhere in future...I was quite surprised actually there wasn't any lockers locally as that's how we had to collect before in the last house. It's all PO collection around here. I might see if I can find one a bit further out then I can go whenever I want rather than during PO hours ☺️

  • Thanks beanie ☺️

I've had three hours or so on and off in the garden..I have lifted several slabs and moved them to make a pathway wider. I have a sneaking suspicion that is where they used to live anyway...and they were all collected up and thrown into a corner piled high. They fitted perfectly where I wanted them with minimal work to do on leveling the ground so I think they're back in their home 🤣

I'm still trying to get into the summer house at the end of the garden. It is STILL full of wood. I think it would make the perfect hidey hole where no one can over look from any houses and it's lovely and quiet....just need to work on being able to actually get in there minus the wood, dead grape vine and bind weed 🤣.

I've cut back lots of dead things. I'm hopeful that some will regrow but bind weed had strangled it all. I have lots of plants I want to get in the ground before winter but I'm still at a loss as where to put them all. DP doesn't garden and I'm confused as to where's best to put stuff. I love gardening but I don't have a lot of useful wisdom or knowledge passed down to me and I get bored reading all the gardening books I have. I wish DP parent's lived closer as they had a beautiful allotment before they moved and now in their new home they've set up sheds, poly tunnels and beds. And have a whole wealth of knowledge....I might pick their brains when they come to visit us next month.

It was a nsd in the fact that I had no unplanned spends (I don't count bills or food spends). I have a spare hundred quid sat in the bills account still. And also some money in some of my other accounts that is 'spare' hoping to have it still all spare by pay day so we can either use it for CC or put towards the bills next month depending on wages coming in.

I've had a response from pay roll and 🤦🏻‍♀️ is all. Seriously I think I've had better conversations with the wall than anyone in that company.

Time for a cuppa and then crack on with the dinner. I keep thinking I need to walk the dog. I wonder how long it takes to remember that that doesn't need to happen any more.

Oh no FP what is wrong? I hope you're okay, thank you for sharing your smile with me virtually  I'm hoping you're on the mend now? - I will pop over to your thread to see if you've updated.
P.S the PO staff used to be lovely, they retired though and I don't know who runs it but the staff member in there just lately is grumpy as....it is the teeniest PO too very cute and I purposely ordered to that one as FLD used to be allowed in with me so I would have walked him there. I will go to the one a little further out next time where the staff are always smiling and laughing

  • £5 paid out on  survey site. I totally forgot I was due it so that was a nice surprise. Moved it across to my current account. Just letting money sit where it is at the moment due to not knowing what is going on at the end of the month with pay yet.
I am SO impatient, wishing my week away so I can re-budget (saddo yes I know hopefully some of you understand and are the same though
