No reason why this month should be different. And given its ending 17th Feb you wont have a Feb pay-in requirement because it works a month in advance (pay in Jan counts for Feb, pay in Feb would count for March if it was continuing etc etc)1

Cheers for that but am I right in thinking the end of the month is ok going forward?la531983 said:No reason why this month should be different. As long as you pay a total of £500 in at any point in the month you will qualify for the cashback offer in the following month. It can be any time in the month.1

All true about Nectar points, the card came with a £100 bribe for spending 2K (yep, paid as 20,000 points) and a 1 year fee waiver. I'll review after a year and see what other options are available. It's useful at the moment since some expensive dental work is underway and my dentist takes Amex (in £2K chunks).crumpet_man said:
Isn't it 2 nectar points per full pound spent? Not strictly the same as 1% cashback as Nectar is not cash and when you redeem them you are not getting the cashback you would have got if you had used a cashback card. Plus isn't there an annual fee for the Amex Nectar card?flaneurs_lobster said:My alternative card for rare months when Chase cashback is filled is the Amex Nectar credit. 1% back on (nearly) all spend. Occasionally knocked back by small retailers. Useful for larger (> £1.5K) purchases.
The only place I spend Nectar points is Sainsburys petrol/diesel as I can get a better than 1% discount using other payment method at other places I could spend Nectar points.
What's your cashback card of choice?0 -
Should be, I get instant confirmation in the app when I pay it insheffieldeagle said:

I have not spent more than £1.5k a month in a long time so no need for a backup card.flaneurs_lobster said:

If/when it ends I will dig out my old Barclaycard 0.5% as Amex is not accepted where I spend most of my money.1 -
I only use Chase abroad so don’t bother paying in for most of the year. Chase do send me a reminder at the end of every month that I’d need to pay £500 to get cash back the following month.sheffieldeagle said:Hi
My 12 month Chase cashback deal is ending on the 17th of Feb so I will need to pay in the £500 in Jan to get cashback after that date. Can someone tell me if I can, as I presume, leave this deposit until the end of the month? Would this also be the case from that point onwards?
Cheers1 -
My Chase cashback initial 12 month period finished in May last year, and they've continued rolling it forward every month since, on the same terms (pay in £500 from a non-Chase account the previous month)1

I used to, but now I don't.mr._prude said:Has anyone got 1% cash back buyimg gift vouchers?I get 5% off at Tescos by buying perx gift vouchers.
I get discounted gift cards through an employee benefit scheme. At first, the supplier bizarrely flagged them as Entertainment and I got the cashback. Then my employer changed the benefit supplier, and they are now flagged as Professional Services. So no cashback0
