Chase 1% cashback ending

I have had the Chase debit card for well over 12 months now and have been enjoying paying £500 into the account for a continued 1% cashback on all purchases.

This apparently is only a 12 month deal, and will end in the coming months (I think around March).

Are there any alternative debit cards offering the same 1% on all/some purchases?
Or will Chase perhaps continue the offer, subject to the £500 pay in?

  • I would imagine it will continue but we'll see I guess.

Did you miss out on the Hyperjar offer of 1.5% on anything up to £750 and 2.5% over?

Where have you seen information that it will end?

I think when I signed up it was for 12 months, been a good offer I want the same again!

The round up is good too, savings pays 5% so pretty decent.

I also recall reading the cashback deal will end in March. I guess if they don't extend it, Amex will offer the best cashback.

The 1% cashback that's capped to £15 per month was always a one year thing, from the day you opened the account and accepted the offer. No idea on whether it'll get extended or if something new will pop up because they said they'd be introducing a CC last year.
  • My alternative card for rare months when Chase cashback is filled is the Amex Nectar credit. 1% back on (nearly) all spend. Occasionally knocked back by small retailers. Useful for larger (> £1.5K) purchases.

I am in my second year the terms are slightly different as your have to insure that you have paid £500 in previous  month to qualify for the next month cashback
The terms now state from the 9th May 2023 for new customers that the deal is for 12 months so that would suggest that if you where a customer prior to this the deal should continue

Isn't it 2 nectar points per full pound spent?  Not strictly the same as 1% cashback as Nectar is not cash and when you redeem them you are not getting the cashback you would have got if you had used a cashback card.  Plus isn't there an annual fee for the Amex Nectar card?

The only place I spend Nectar points is Sainsburys petrol/diesel as I can get a better than 1% discount using other payment method at other places I could spend Nectar points.
  • Hi

My 12 month Chase cashback deal is ending on the 17th of Feb so I will need to pay in the £500 in Jan to get cashback after that date. Can someone tell me if I can, as I presume, leave this deposit until the end of the month? Would this also be the case from that point onwards?

    Cheers
