Help - seeking advice on new mobile phone - upgrade from Motorola G7 Power 64GB

My current mobile phone a Motorola G7 Power 64GB is showing its age. It has served me very well over the past four years or so but I need to upgrade to a phone with more fixed internal storage for Apps (I'm currently at 61GB capacity). I like the size (6.2") of my current phone and don't really want to go any bigger. The battery life on my current phone is excellent and the camera serves me well for everyday usage. I have had good experience with the Motorola models over the years and am happy to stick with the brand as for me they give excellent value for money.
Can the Forum suggest models that I should consider upgrading to within the Motorola range, or another manufacturer within the same price bracket?

Well the first obvious solution is remove photos/video that sucks up all your space, or remove the duplicates and keep unused stuff in your cloud account. If your device is not using adoptable storage (the G7 power came with Android 9 by the looks of it with support for Android 10, and adoptable storage was added in Android 6) and you don't already have a separate card in it, you can add one and format it as adoptable, it then pretends that its part of the phone. That phone I believe can take up to 512Gb...If you're going to do this that SD card becomes part of that phone and won't work in another one unless you format it again, so make sure all your cloud syncs/back-up are working.2

Hi Neil - thanks for your help. All my photos/videos are held on a 128GB SD card (only used 2.67GB) and are currently backed up to the Google cloud. No photos or videos are stored on the internal memory of the phone. The phone is running on Android 10. It's the internal storage that is nearly full (too many Apps!) plus I'd like to move to a phone that is 5G capable.

I have the G84 as in the offer above, very good phone with loads of storage. Also available in blue and a whitish colour.2

I was considering the G84 but when the price of the Edge 40 Neo was cut by £50 after Christmas, making it the same price as the G84, I went for that instead (in Caneel Bay blue). I've had it for 5 days now and apart from one app that I can't get to work it's all good so far.1

I have the g84 as an upgrade from a g9 power, it is much lighter, and usefully smaller, so it is actually pocketable, unlike the g9, it is a tiny bit smaller than a g7 power, and lighter (because of the smaller battery....)If you buy from motorola, they are £250 at the moment- no "sale" currently (but come with one years screen damage insurance), however if you register an email address for marketing they send you a 10% off coupon within 24 hours, plus they will give you £36 for your g7 (£56 for a grade A).If you do buy one, get a usb C to usb C data lead (or a usb A to USB C adaptor) so you can transfer everything to the new one when you first set it up.You can transfer everything by bluetooth, but it takes several hours (guess how I know....)I want to go back to The Olden Days, when every single thing that I can think of was better.....
(except air quality and Medical Science)

I have been considering the next step and Argos seem to have the best prices. I see no need to deviate from staying with the Moto G series
£100 Moto G13 https://www.argos.co.uk/product/1932892
£130 Moto G14 https://www.argos.co.uk/product/3360259
Both have the same 5000 mAh battery as the G7 Power and 128GB internal memory.
They are not 5G though, which I note you had mentioned as desirable.
I have to be honest, I find the product range for the Moto G series a bit confusing now. AIUI, the G13/14 are the "flagship" models while the G33/53/73/83 are parallel lines. It would be far easier if you just knew that G was the series and the higher the number the better, but I don't think it works like that.
My wife and I have been through several Moto G series phones, starting from the G4. I'd quite like to get back to a smaller physical form factor but not sure that is compatible with the larger battery capacity.
I see no reason to move away from the Moto G series phones - they have good functionality, long battery life and a competitive price point.
I note that others have commented elsewhere in these forums that the Motorola phones do not benefit from the same level of security updates for as long as some competitors.2 -

Thanks to everyone for your help and suggestions. I think that I'll go for the Moto G84 as it has 5G capability and also has a 3.5mm earphone socket which I use occasionally. Also sits nicely at my £200 ish budget.

I have a G84 that I bought last year for £201 on amazon (it's an EU import so it does everything you need but has an EU plug on the charger). That was the best price I've seen anywhere so the £199.99 at Argos (or £199 at Amazon) is a bargain, I don't think they'll last long at that price.
