Why should anyone want a fast charge if by using a slow "granny charger" they can extend the time when the whole house enjoys cheap electricity?
    Well...
Charging my car from 50 to 100% (cell balancing time) It is taking from 12:00 to 00:00 to do this, thanks to IO with one of two stops for peak usage. More than long enough to do several loads of washing, a clean cycle on washer 90C at 2 hours long. As well as tumble dry the cloths all at 7.5p 😍
Think that is more than long enough, & really would not want a granny charger sat out in the current weather & pulling from a normal socket, while we are asleep.

From Intelligent Octopus Terms & Conditions:

"2.4.1.7 Intelligent Octopus is subject to a fair use policy with a maximum of six hours of managed charging per 24 hours. Should your charging schedule request more than six hours per 24 hours, we reserve the right to charge any incremental usage above six hours at the day rate."

What does that mean exactly?  Does it mean that you should not request more charge than can be achieved in 6 hours?  For example, that would be more than about 14 kWh of charge using a granny charger.

It means they can deal with those taking the mickey if they choose to do so.
Thus far they have not used that option with any vigour, but I have heard of some being suspended due to their local systems interfering with the ability of Octopus to control charging. Those seemed to be people with automations that were fighting with Octopus for control.
If you interpret it exactly as written then yes, if you request a schedule that your EVSE/EV cannot complete within 6 hours then you risk being charged at peak rate for the period over the 6 hours.
