I'm trying to set up an I pod touch and apparently I need a password for the livebox router.
I've tried typing in the WEP key but to no avail.
Can anyone help me out here please?
Thanks

It should be the WEP key you require, but do remember that it's probably case sensitive.te audire non possum. musa sapientum fixa est in aure.0

sorry mate, don't have one and spending too long reading about them will only make me insanely jealous
but try this from the apple website: http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=306067
if not, try going to www.apple.com then use the search feature to look for 'ipod setup' or 'wifi troubleshooting' - it seems you might find info by searching for iphone troubleshooting, since the touch is an iphone just without the phone bit.
hope this helps - if not, google for a site called spymac as they often have a lot of helpful tips.
if youre on a PC, you poss. need to DL the latest itunes from the apple page.Win 2008 in 2008 member number.....237!!! Won so far: £0.00

An update:
A quick search on google turned this up:
http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=1185534&tstart=90
Basically I had to amend a setting on the live box by going to the right url in the browser.
It worked fist time for one Ipod touch but the other had to be reset and then I tried it again. It worked. (2 daughters mean 2 Ipods)
If you are on the Orange Livebox you need to type the following url into the browser:
http://192.168.1.1
then you get a username and password dialogue. Both are 'admin'
Then you need to follow this advice as posted on the forum courtesy of Crosbie
"I had this problem with a Wanadoo livebox (= same thing?). My solution was not to change the key (I have a bunch of other devices relying on it) but just to change livebox settings from 'WPA or WEP security' to just 'WEP security only'.
This is on the Inventel admin pages under configuration > advanced > wireless. You just click the radio button and wait a minute.
This left other devices still able to connect and allowed my Touch in too. it might be possible to change back once the device is recognised, but I'm leaving well enough alone at the mo.
Hope this helps."
You may be interested to have a read of some other stuff on there but IMO some of the links can make you lose the will to live if you're not a techie.
It's a shame that Apple or Orange don't make this information officially available - they certainly bore no fruit when I looked!

If the above does fail, I had 5 hours to try and get this working and failed, changing your Livebox to WEP only will allow the Ipod to connect, but appears to blow out any other PC, Laptop and WiFi Printer you have on the network.
Almost at the point of dispair I decided to look at the manual. (yes defeated and a man on the brink)
Try this if you were at the same point of thinking why did I buy this.
On your Ipod go to Settings > WiFi ignore your Livebox that is showing but not linking.
Select Other and set up the name exactly as your livebox was showing on the previous screen.
Then select Security and select WPA2
Then enter in your WEP password, but please make sure the letters are in Caps a real pain to press the shift, but it will be worth it.
Press the 1 button on your Livebox to set it into pairing mode.
Select join on your Ipod and voila you Ipod is transmitting on the same protcol as the rest of your network.
No other changes are required to your Livebox.
I hope to those of you who have almost given up, that this has offered some help and encouragment.
Once it is running it is a dream - so enjoy0 -
After you have typed in your password/security key, hold down
the number one button next to the USB CONNECTION on your livebox, and press JOIN on your IPOD at the same time. Job done.0 -
